How could you ruin a Perfectly good Emmy Award Winning show. JUST COPY AND PASTE, and you are done.
The movie starts off with what looks like very cheap people water, fire, earth, and air bending. This got everyone excited because it was just like the show. After they find ONG they just randomly join him.
There was no character development at all. They just find a boy then they are like Ok lets join him.
After all this they find "Haru" a 7 year old girl boy. He whispers when he talks, and randomly hides behind SOAKKA? The fire nation then captures them seeing Katara can water bend, Then ONG delivers Katara's speech at the Earth Bender jail( which is on the EARTH, surrounded by a steal fence????), and gets the Earth villagers to fight and win there Freedom. The earth villagers then give ONG and the gaang, a water scroll. Blah blah blah, they then go through all the Fire nation colonies in the earth kingdom getting people to fight back, shows ONG just slightly airbending. Then ONG sucks at water bending, and he says " i can't do this" You can't do what?
And the Movie wasn't about The Last Airbender Ong, The Main Characters were Zuko and Zhao. They seemed to share the same onscreen time as Ong.
Enough with the Plot, its to dumb to even try to write more. When the movie finished NO ONE clapped. Everyone was in awe of how non professional, and crappy it was. Who gave the OK to this Movie, did they just not want the director to feel bad?? It's obvious M. Night Nevermakeamovieagain, didn't care one bit for the fans. AND I LOVED how some people said UVATAR, but GRANDMA said AVATAR, and some people slipped an AANG, once in a while. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL. He was in it for the money, He knew with the awesome marketing people would go see it.. People will and be dissapointed. :( I can't believe my favorite cartoon was ruined. That wasn't our AANG on the screen, that was ONG. None of AANGS goofy childish personality are shown in the movie, he's just there, lifeless no personality. That wasn't Katara, The brave, strong, womens rights motherly natured Girl. She got atleast 10 min of talk time the whole movie. Sokka had like 3 laughing parts, i feel M. Night really constrained there acting abilities. Its a shame they will have to pay for the movie with there future careers. :/

Idiot Quote of the day:
" This is Avatar Kiyoshi, your past life. She liked to play games." ONG: "I like to play games too"

There was very minimal bending in the movie?!? When they fought they wouldn't fight with bending, all the soldiers fought with spears and such. The movie should have been full of bending in almost every scene. Fire bending Chi crap really annoyed me, you don't find out about the Chi until the very end When the FIRE LORD EXPLAINS it and talks to Azula, then movie done.

Oh, btw: The Girl playing Yue, was awesome. She held a great composure, very elegant like a princess. Probably best performance. and Zuko was ok. Also, EEROH, also had a good few scenes, really got the Iroh vibe from him. :D

Rating of the Movie out of ten, kills me because I have been waiting for a long time, past couple of years been diligently checking these message boards, IMDB, google searching The Last Airbender daily, because i was so excited. When i heard all the sucky reviews i just couldnt believe them. I wanted to love this movie, rewatch it over and over again. But: 2/10 for the very few effects, they were good when we saw them.

this pretty much sums up my expierience

Lets say you aren't a fan of the cartoon and want to see and enjoyable movie.... This is not it.

The heroes never related to each other. They hardly spoke to each other. You never felt engaged with them and never wanted to cheer for them. If Sokka didn't say he was Katara's brother you wouldn't have never known they were related.

I know the target audience is children. But it was dumbed down to much. It was always one character saying a line or a narration and then them doing something. They never just took action.

Overall the movie was dry. There never any sense of action, intrigue, mystery, adventure, sorrow... nothing. All of those elements are what made the cartoon so great. It was never translated into the film.

Why is that most of the negative reader reviews seem to be from people with only one post who joined today? Do people really feel that strongly about this film that they felt the need to seek out a fansite and register to the forums just to post their negative review?
I believe an Extended Cut can save the film. (maybe)

Oh and i forgot one of the most important things!
THEY NEVER EXPLAIN WHY AANG's ARROWS AND EYES START TO GLOW! If i had no previous experience of the movie i would just be like wtf?! And M. Night ruined the spirit world, the way he portrayed it was retarded.

ruined my weekend.

I probably would if i wasn't here before... I had huge faith in Night. and got shot down hard. I think he did an ok job at directing the film. The effect were very good. The set was beautiful and score was amazing! however, a monkey could write better...

I don't get why they felt like they had to dumb down the dialogue from a kids' cartoon. Apparently, M. Night and Paramount felt that Nickelodeon is too cerebral for a summer action movie.

A lot of persons follow the message boards but never really had a reason to post. I didn't make my first post until after the theatrical trailer because it rocked so hard. So don't be surprised that there are so many new posters. We are all just really shocked at how bad it was and felt the need to vent our frustrations.

So that's why I don't remember any bad lines in the show. WTF is wrong with this guy?!
