I truly believe in what you said about the 3D conversion. They probably made a shorter version of the Director's cut. Night as we all know, knows how to make a good movie better than anyone and he would never let this happen to one of his most beloved project's. It's really weird, what's happening... It doesn't feel like it's from Shyamalan himself.

Everyone who has seen the movie
I'm curious about
that old scene with Katara smiling at Aangs poster?

I wtf'd at that scene

They were setting various villages free and making posters saying the Avatar was back to save the day. Katara had just posted one of those posters, thats why she was smiling.

Thks but by now I would rather not know that scene existed at all... :?

That was possibly the best review I've read so far. Well written, very ubiased, and professionally reviewed. This makes me a tad more excited to see it. I am looking foward to see it tonight, thanks. :)

This is so very very sad.
I don't want bad mouth M. Night.
Yet I feel like he tricked and lied. He exuded such confidence in this.

This will be my Star Wars, LOTR, Matrix

but this movie's score is equivalent to that of Date Movie...
What does he see in this that we, the audience, do not?

It's almost tear invoking.... where was the care? the time? the patience?
Where was the respect to the source? and you all know I'm not talking racebending.
It's like he took the master piece that is the show, slaughtered it, and gave us it bloody remains.

No character development.. No connection.. no care...
- sigh - M. Night what was going on in your mind? How could you be so oblivious to this?

I know I went from "Guys, screw the negative reviews" to " How sad and disappointing this movie is"
But, eh, who am I kidding M. Night dropped the ball on this one.

Edit:
However. I think anew director and writer would be great and would stir peoples interest for the sequel!
Steven Spielberg sounds good to me.

Anyone agree?

Oh gawd if Steven Spielberg ever directed the sequel I would cry with joy. I would literally cry.
Or JJ. Abrams! His adaption of Star Trek was freaking epic.

I'm not gonna lie, when I first found out M Night was directing the film I "WTF'd" but then I thought I'd give it a chance and see where it'd go. The promo photos got me so excited cause I thought, hey, it's not actually that bad. But now the full piece is out and it's creating disgusting reactions that I could never imagine.

I was expecting reactions like "That film was so cheesy and nerdy but it was AWESOME!", not genuine despair.

Ugh.

Shyamalan was not the problem. Paramount was.

I like night bender reivew alot and i agree with alot he said. I will say what I thought of the movie. I was dispointed
Bad
1 The Charater Deveopment was terrbile. Aang and Katara were so awkard to me and not the funny type. I felt like you barley new the charaters. NOTHING AT ALL. Iroh and Zuko showed a little. Sokka,Aang, and katara showed none.
2 Pace: It was to fast paced. Everything espicaly the middle it felt like 30 minitues they left south pole and were at north pole. At north pole its like sokka and yue become freinds and love each other in 2 minitues.
3 LONGER MOVIE. At first i thought it was going to be okay, but come on why could they not of added an other 30-45 minitues in the middle. They could easley of added, Koyshi island or jet or bumi or jeng jong.
4 The order of the movie. Like aang going like 3 times to the spirt word to talk to dragon.
5 THEY WAY THE CHANGED THE WAY YOU SAY THE NAMES
6 Putting the dragon and no roku.
7 not explaing suzins coment
8 aang and sokka were terrible acting jobs
9 the whole middle part was terrible. and fast paced
10 not funny enough
11 did any one hear th name momo or appa. or see them
12 not explain master pakku at all
Good
1 I LOVED THE BEGGING THAT WAS LIKE THE INTRO.
2 THE BENDING AND SPECIAL EFFECTS WERE GREAT.
3 THE MUSIC AND FILM WAS BEUTUFFLL
4 I tought all the fire nation charaters were good acting. Zhao,Zuko,Iroh.
5 loved the partt of Azzula at the end
6 south and north pole were prety good
5 even know i dont like the order i like the flashbalcks of aang

Overall i tought it had its momments. I would give it a C job. Parts were good but had alot of bad. The way they were say aangs name during the movie drove me crazy. I do hope they make a second film tho(sorry for any spelling mistakes try to ignore them).

MINDBENDER. All reviews by people here I've skipped 'cept a few cause Idrc. But your's was definitely worth the read.

EVERYONE. DON'T TL;DR MINDBENDER'S REVIEW. It's 100% correct.

@Uncle Aang: @Your #7 on the list of cons.

Ozai explained the comet when he talked to Azula in the end.

And personally I loved Aang and his acting. I loved every scene that had

Aang and his flashbacks. Especially him giving Gyatso the necklace. <3

Shyamalan was not the problem. Paramount was.

Shyamalan wrote the script. And the script wasn't good.

Omg that would be so amazing. Like... so. So amazing.

Yeah, that scene was in the middle of the most rushed part of the whole movie. It was in a sequence of the gaang (and it's difficult to call them that because they don't act like a team, just a bunch of people fighting together, but don't really know each other. I don't feel that they are worthy of being called the gaang.) going around inspiring earth kingdom villages to revolt, and Katara put up this poster to say that the Avatar has returned. Or at least that's what I think it was for. I don't read Asian-looking movie tongue language. lul

Oic. But that could be a good thing if they get a sequel. It could be used as another addition to Aang's struggles.

I believe both are a bit at fault... Paramount maybe on timing.

Yet Night's greatest criticis have ALWAYS been dialoge and pacing. He's a great director, yet his dialogues are terrible.
