yeah if they went into back story it might of killed or dragged that scene i just loved how you can see sokka' neck and jaw stiffen up from behind as he sees the soot it is more dramatic then going into back story

sometimes less is more

Less is indeed more, especially for a movie under 2 hours. In the show, the finale was an hour long, so they had more time to spell everything out. Not so here.

Exactly. In a movie you have to leave room for common human sense. It's not that hard to tell that black stuff falling from the sky in one place followed by a cut somewhere else of black stuff flowing into the sky is the same stuff in this context. Even without seeing the series. Humanity has a little edge called intelligence. ;)

Did anyone else notice the incredible sound in this clip!

I mean, not only did the music match the situation perfectly, but I loved hearing the deep rumbling of the furnaces on the fire nation ships.

It just gave that short clip an incredible amount of atmosphere.

Yesss. I showed my mom this clip and told her that even though there's not that much content in it, pay attention to #1 the music and how it perfectly fits this situation and #2 the amazing sp fx of the ship.
