M. Night didn't even use Momo for comic relief. Like every other character in the movie, he was just...there.

I almost thought it was to much comedy in the movie, I wanted it darker.

Other than the laughably bad dialogue and the general awkwardness of the movie, what parts of the movie would you consider comedy...? :eh:

I can barely think of five moments that were supposed to be funny. :hmm:

-Katara dropping her water-ball-thing on Sokka. Even though he didn't even get wet...
-Sokka under Appa's tale.
-Katara freezing Sokka
-"It really hurt!"
-Pakku's reaction to Sokka volunteering to look after Yue

Are you saying you wanted it darker and more bland? If it were even possible to get any more bland...

I just want it darker, it has nothing to do with the dialogue or awkwardness, just want a darker tone over it.

'Last Airbender 2' Will Be 'Darker,' M. Night Shyamalan Says
M.Night wrote:the second one, I've written a draft that I'm really happy with and is darker and richer, and it has a wonderful antagonist in it in Azula, who's kind of like our only real, pure antagonist in the series, so I'm excited about that

Most likely, it has to do with the Coup of Ba Sing Se.

Maybe, Aang WILL be captured by being crystalized, akin to frozen carbonite. That way. the first part of the third movie is to rescue him from Boiling Rock, with Katara wearing a metal-clad bikini.

I just realized that it may not be enough to nag Shyamalan and Paramount for the Extended Edition. We should also be trying to inspire them...For example, if Paramount is refusing to give us the Extended Edition becuase they're worried about how much money it could cost to fully render it, then we should try giving Paramount some ideas on any studios that can finish the incomplete effects and do it cheap, but still looking expensive.
Each of the Lord of the Rings movies was made with less than $100 million, but they all look like they cost twice that much.
Maybe Paramount can ask that CGI-company to finish the effects for them, but we have to give them the idea.
Demand the Extended Edition, or the Trilogy is doomed.

Lord of the Rings was almost made about ten years ago.

And I don't know why people would want most of those deleted scenes back in. They were pretty much just as bad as the rest of the movie. The only really good scene was the original epilogue, and I don't think they'd replace the Azula one. Even though I think they should...

Hello, new here. Just saw the movie and I'm in a small minority (apparently) who loved it. Thought I'd chime in. I'm excited about all of this talk about an extended edition and would love to see one, but I'm a bit confused by a lot of your responses. With all due respect, I think some people are seriously misguided. Money Talks. Not the lack of money. A boycott of the DVD/Blu-Ray would be disastrous to the cause. The only films that get extended editions or re-released on DVD multiple times are the ones that people BUY. Think about it. Multiple versions of extreme bestsellers are re-leased all of the time. Not duds. Whoever heard of putting out an extended edition of a DVD that sold poorly? It doesn't happen. All of this talk about not buying the DVD/Blu-Ray to prove a point and get the extended edition released will actually have the exact OPPOSITE effect. It won't happen. It's doubtful signing some online petition will either. If you seriously want to see this extended edition released (Like I would) there is only one thing you can do. BUY THE DVD or BLU-RAY of THE LAST AIRBENDER. BUY MULTIPLE COPIES! Give them out to friends and family. Give them away to schools and libraries and churches and donation centers.

The only reason I finally saw this film was because I picked it up at my local library. I was completely brainwashed by the media’s and so-called fans’ critical bashing of this film that I never took the time to watch in theaters. There was a tornado of hate brought down on this maligned film. It was like some form of mass cultural hypnosis that unfairly ate it alive.. Even if it did make over $300 million worldwide, “successful” is not how it is thought. I, for one, thought it was very successful. I’ve since bought it on BLU-RAY and have watched it 4 times. It’s a good and deeply moving film. The look on Aang's face at the end still gets me.

The best thing you can do if you want to see M. Night and/or Paramount finish this saga on film is BUY it and spread the word. Post it on your Facebook. Write a glowing review on Amazon. Fight the HATE and look for the positives. The glass is more than half full in my opinion.

Wow,not bad for your 1st post! Welcome,BTW.
I,too, really like The Last Airbender. And it's cool that you just came here and stated your opinion of the movie,
not worried about being scorned.

But back on topic,I'm not sure if there will be an extended edition. I want there to be one,but I'm not sure it'll happen. :(

Excellent post!!! I so agree with everything you said. This movie seriously does NOT deserve all the hate it's getting the the raging, nitpicky majority of the fandom. This only major flaw (and the only standing-out flaw) I would say that this film has was the fast pacing. Everything else is pretty much average/above average and in no way horrible. And look at it this way, it's MNS's first ever adaptation.

If you're a big Kingdom Hearts fan you should know who this character REALLY is right off the spot! I'll give you a hint, look at my avvie.

LOOK WHAT I FOUND:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEuE0iUVcIg
I'm glad to see there's people who still haven't lost hope.

Since YouTube is the largest video community online, this is a great way to spread the campaign around. We should help by posting comments on the video, AND favoriting it. All this should increase the video's popularity.

And to Aangfan1:

Maybe you should post your own YouTube video about everything you said in your post, and upload it as a response to the video I just mentioned. It'll earn more attention that just posting it here at LAFans.
