During a lunch break, Rathebone came up to me and said, "So I'm grounded?"
And I'm like "What?".
"You said in an interview you're grounding Sokka."
"Yeah, thought it'd help with the more serious tone of the movie."
"So it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that you don't think I'm funny."
And he gives me this sad look, and I feel like I'm watching a commercial for Save The Children. He keeps trying to hide the fact that he's crying be wiping the tears away when he reaches for his sun visor.
"No,no! I think you're a very talented actor! It's just-"
"I told a joke yesterday, and you didn't laugh..."
Adjusts sun visor.
"And Noah told me-he said-you thought"
Adjust sun visor.
"Rathebone, I really like you, I do, now pull yourself together.."
"You just can't accept me for who I am!" And he runs off with his face in his hands.
A lumpy bald scalp was sticking out of a prop box ten feet away. Whoever it belonged to was giggling.
