Kataang or Zutara?

It didn't feel right though. It was so much different than when aang would avatar state. katara and aang stopped feeling like an item after that point and when they "ended" up together in the series finale it just felt forced. mai and zuko felt right but aang and katara just didn't.

I actually really like that they "ended" together even after Katara went through her dark night of the soul. I think it's really beautiful that Aang stuck with her even after seeing her Darkest Moment. That's a kind of loyalty you don't see too often.

I mean, it'd be kinda lousy for Aang to just give up and bail on her just because she hit a rough patch and had one really bad internal crisis.

But hey, that's just me. You're certainly allowed your own thoughts on it.

Let me clarify. I'm more concerned with how katara came out of her vindictive funk. It seems like she's all depressed at the end of the southern raiders, and she said herself that she didn't forgive him. So what took place that made her "normal" again. There didn't seem to be a revelation. Any internal struggle overcome. In the "serpents pass" Aang isn't being himself because he's not letting himself feel anything because of how upset he got when the sandbenders stole Appa. After Ying has her baby Aang feels "hopeful" again. I'm just wondering what the heck happened to katara. They fail to point that out in the end of the series.

Ahh... I see what you mean now. Yeah, with Katar'a's case they didn't explore the fallout as much. They had her just kind of snap back to normal in-between episodes. (Imma attribute that to Status Quo is God.)

how exactly did mai and zuko end up anyways? book 3 jumps into them already being a couple.

for more info on zuko and mai i think you have to look at the nickelodeon magazine that came out between seasons 2 and 3. Most of it is complete tripe but there are a few good things that fill in some story.

One more vote for Zutara! Although I don't oppose Kataang. I mean, it was kind of obvious it was going to pan out in favor of Kataang, despite all of the ruckus we Zutarian's stirred up whenever Zuko and Katara interacted. Perhaps my love for Aang and his happiness outweighs my own fangirl-y wants, because I was happy with the way the coupling worked out in the end. Well, to be honest, I'm not a very big fan of Mai, but that's a discussion for another day.

I don't think too many chicks are fans of mai. She seems to be more of a male likeable character. I thought Mai was pretty Badass myself so that's one vote for Mai from the male side. That and most of my friends liked her. I wonder how much zutara is gonna be in the movies. Like are they gonna play off of it more? focus on it even? I'm not saying that the third movie will be about zutara mind you. I'm just wondering if it they will actually make zutara exist in the movies. In the series zutara is mainly an idea. never fully realized. it would be interesting to say the least. I'm not saying zuko will end up with katara, but i'm just wondering if they will present an opportunity for katara to choose between them. If Mai is in the movies though (and i don't know why she wouldn't) it doesn't seem like they would be able to pull it off.
