Living with Azula can only cause great pain. It's either have a positive outlook, or get drowned in the madness. I also feel she never showed off her full potential in fighting. She was a beast, but I don't think we saw how beastly she actually was. ♥ D:
We caught a glimpse of her pain in 'The Beach'. I do think that her perky personality was over-compensation for her inner turmoil, but we all react in different ways to inner turmoil. I do agree that she and Mai were very powerful fighters, and they showed how powerful non-benders can be!
My favorite characters are, in no particular order, Uncle Iroh, Zuko, Toph, Sokka, FireLord Ozai, Appa and Momo.
