I just finished the original FullMetalAlchemist series. Mind is full of fuuuuuu.....what an amazing show. I bought another DVD series for my English teacher. We just finished reading Frankenstein, the stories are pretty much the same.

Since Clannad and Kanon both used themes from the games for their opening and endings I'm hoping they use the original Little Busters theme as the Opening and Alicemagic (Komari's ending theme, if I remember correctly) as the Ending.

Apparently someone in Japan heard me since these are exactly the two songs they're using. Freaking amazing. Also the studio producing it is JCstaff, who have been sucking a little lately but have done a lot of good stuff like ToraDora and the Raildex series (in fact the RailDex director is directing Little Busters). This has upset some people, but I'm willing to believe that they can make it awesome. Choosing my favorite ending from the game to use for the anime is a good first step, and the art they've released for it so far looks decent, even if it doesn't perfectly match the style of the game.

My list is growing! Excited to see the Eureka AO and see how this sequel will hold up to the original.

Here's some reviews of anime I've been impressed with lately:

Another

Just like how High School of the Dead was Japan's tribute to US zombie movies, Another is Japan's stab at making a slasher movie anime. They even go out of their way to reference H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King, though the story doesn't fit well with either of those author's styles so the references are just nods at best. Anyway this is more like a Friday the 13th kind of story; a supernatural story of murder, curses and bizarre deaths. The plot takes a while to get off the ground, and (just like in most slasher movies) there's quite a pile of contrivance to make the plot work, but the last few episodes really make the show, and it's only like 11 eps long so it's no big deal. The characters are kind of the weak point. Really this is just something to enjoy if you like this kind of mindless slasher movie story. Good if you switch your brain off and just coast through it to see the epic death scenes and craziness.

AnoHana

This show has a much longer title but I don't feel like typing it out. Anyway it's about a boy who is being haunted by what is apparently the ghost of a girl he knew when he was young. It's a touching story about a group of friends coming back together after growing up caused them to drift apart. It's got a lot of emotional ups and downs but the payoff is really nice and it's just a feel-good story, very well told. That said my biggest complaint was that sometimes they shove the emotions down your throat a little too forcefully. Nobody just sniffles and cries silently, they all have to bawl out loud like the show is saying 'LOOK SEE THIS SCENE IS REALLY SAD YOU SHOULD BE CRYING TOO!' I don't like being force-fed my emotions, but really that's my only complaint for what is otherwise a really, really good show. This, along with the next show, will go up there with Toradora and Clannad as my recommendations for anime that change how you look at your life.

Inu x Boku SS (Secret Service)

This show is just plain good. Everything is spot-on and I only have one very tiny complaint. Anyway it's about a dormitory full of only people who are Japanese monsters from noble houses who have taken human form. Each noble has a Secret Service agent as a bodyguard/companion. The main girl has a problem because she's shy and tends to act haughty and demeaning to others because she's not sure how to interact with them. She gets paired up with a fox-demon guy who is loyal to her to the point of outright obsession. Though at first I thought this would turn into nothing special the whole cast grew on me really quickly and before I had even hit the halfway point I was deeply invested in the comedy and drama of the different couples. Every pairing in the show is deserved and the chemistry between the characters is great. The comedy is hilarious and the drama is touching without being too forceful like AnoHana was. The -only- minor complaint I have is that the maid characters were useless and didn't really need to be there. Other than that just a great show all around and definitely one I will suggest to anyone who likes good dramatic romance anime with comedy on the side.
