That wasn't half bad. But it wouldn't be Mortal Kombat if they went in this direction.

...how would it not? Yes there have been some pretty big changes made, but everything that makes the characters that they showed who they are was still there. Scorpion's hate for Sub-zero, Scorpion's white eyes, Johnny Cage, the movie action hero, Shang Tsung putting together a tournament etc. I think that the changes that were made were for the better and made the characters a lot cooler.

And plus, that fight scene was just amazing.

exactly, I mean I don't think there's any other way to make mortal kombat look more realistic. If they go with the original concept it would just look tacky or cheesy

there's been some speculation that this is a short video advertising for another MK game, and considering the random 7 minute approach to a teaser I wasn't sure what to make of it. After some research I came across Jeri Ryan's Twitter account, she played Sonya in the teaser. According to her the trailer is to show off a director's idea for a revitalization of the MK movie franchise. This clip was to convince the WB people that his direction with it would be marketable. So chances are none of the actors, or even the story will all be the same in the actual movie.

Yeah they did keep that, Scorpion and Sub Zero's rivalry was one of my favorite stories. However, I was speaking in part for the small legions of fans that just don't feel it's the same. I don't think it would make for a bad film in fact I thought it was cool, but then I was reading some of the comments on that video, and spoke to a few of my friends and they didn't feel the same vibe from the games. I mean what if someone tried to make TLA realistic and gritty? how many of us would be upset? Again not saying it would be a bad film it would just piss of a lot of people.

Well cheese isn't necessarily a bad thing hell sometimes it's good.

Ok say if they were to continue in this direction, whats the explanation behind sub zero? He has an extreme case of hypothermia?
