I think my mom's slapped me in the face and tried to hurt me so much I don't think I'll ever have the heart to physically discipline my future child/children. I'm pretty far from spoiled, and moving in with an only child only proves more that they will not be spoiled.

I'm pretty easy. You argue with each other over a game, lose the computer for the day. Snark at each other over dinner, lose dessert for a few days. Argue over a toy, oops, toy's gone for the day too.

Kids are so spoiled now a days you take away anything and it's forgotten within a few minutes...-sigh-

Kids spoiled? Are you kidding? Except for the cable, toys, xbox360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP, HDTV, bikes, park, skate-park, swimming pool, bowling alley, football fields, tennis courts, mini golf, fishing equipment, cookies, dvds, cinema, stores, baseball, basketball, theatre, school-clubs and chuck E cheese they have aboslutely nothing for kids to do these days.

That's pretty terrible that you had to get treated that way with the slaps in the face, that's not a form of punishment so much as it is a form of dominance but it's good that you at least refuse to do that in the future rather than following suit.

To me, a slap in the face is one thing but if my brothers and I would act up growing up, you'd be dang sure that we wouldn't be able to sit down for a good while. That's punishment. It teaches your child limits and restraints so long as you make sure your child understands why you're punishing them like that.

some kids respond to spanking discipline than others, and some respond to timeouts ect....


you just got to gauge how your kid responds to which form of discipline that gets results, cause what is important is teaching kids boundaries and limits.
