That's indeed interesting!
But... Korra? I don't really want same story but with a different character, to be honest.

I'm so excited.

My bet is that it's a male waterbender. Korra just sounds masculine to me, but hey. I could be dead wrong. About the Water Tribe, just look at the list:

  • Katara
  • Sokka
  • Hakoda
  • Kya
  • Kanna
  • Bato
  • Hama
  • Pakku
  • Sangook
  • Hahn
  • Yugoda
  • Arnook
  • Korra
It just fits. Almost every water tribe name has an A, O, or both. There's obviously exceptions like Yue, but the majority make it seem like Korra would be Water Tribe.

I'M SO EXCITED!!!!

Why would you think it's the same story with a different character?

Seconded. Obviously it's probably going to be about Avatar Korra who has to restore balance to the world. But knowing Mike and Bryan, they wouldn't use the same thing. Aang has already disappeared for 100 years, returned to find the world in chaos, master the other three elements, and confront the problem directly. If Korra does the same thing, it would be very surprising from Bryke.

Idk how they're going to do it, but I doubt it will be the same

I HAS FAYTH IN U BRYKE

On the other side -- this is mini series, right?

I don't see how they will manage to flesh out a full scale story as epic as ATLA in this one.

But, i pray, i just pray for Bryke to show me how wrong i am. Please Bryke, do so.

Oh, and ...

It's AVATAR: legend of korra.

And Jimbo Cameron can't do a thang about it.

Hmm, I think that it's going to be some time after the war (or probably the next avatar). No matter how good of a job Aang does their are still going to be some long-reaching after effects, i.e. Fire Nation and Air Nomand tension.
Sort of like the Crusades, if you will.
So this Avatar is going to have to deal with all of this.
Or maybe the main character isn't the avatar at all.
Heh, unlikely, but possible.
You never know what's going on in Bryke's heads..

What if Korra is Katara and Aang's kid?
Makes sense...ish.

I mean, obviously since the next line of avatars is water it would make a bit more sense for Korra to be the Avatar.
But, hey you never know.
