Order of The White Lotus

Discussion and speculation about what Book 2 of The Legend of Korra will be about.

I'll promise to stop using my 'stupid passive aggressive smileys' if you stop giving stupid nonconstructive comments - but that's like telling Biggie Smalls to stop being fat (considering the way you talk, I suppose you're too young to understand this simile). But let's both zip up our pants and continue with this discussion which you think is <adjective> BECAUSE <justification>.

[EDIT]
p/s Sorry guys.. and mods. Not trying to be a pain here. Moving on.

That was actually an analogy. Not a simile.

Anyway, since you'd like my reason for believing that the Order would be have anything to do with the anti-benders, I will expound on that. The Order could become corrupt, but it's highly unlikely. As likely as Korra being a lesbian. In fact, let me make a list of things equally as likely to happen to illustrate my feelings:

Aang becoming sadistic and racist.
Katara being not annoying.
Yue and Korra having a romantic relationship.

It's just not something that would make any sense. There's always a chance that it could happen, but I remain 100% convinced that if the Order is going to be in the show, they are not going to be the bad guys. Sorry.

Now that's fair :D (not passive aggressive at all). Also, I would like to say that you are correct, it can be considered an analogy, but being that i used the word 'like', making it an open comparison, it is also a simile. An analogy can be considered an extended simile (most of the time). But honestly, thanks. I am starting to get back in the groove of antics in this forum. Don't change.

The unlikeliness of this theory is very high... I was just such a big fan of this side-story in the original series, i just pray they play a more prominent role in this new one.

[UPDATES]
I was told that in the first Episode, 'Welcome to Republic City', Korra was being trained by members of The Order - This lays my theory to rest; In a grave, along with my dignity. le sigh.

For me, I felt that the order only truly revealed itself in the series finale, which it did, but I think that the series finale only gave us a glimpse of what it was or can be. I really hope they have a place in Korra for The White Lotus. BUt I guess only time will tell

Not that anyone probably cares about this thread anymore, but now that we've seen them, what does everyone think their role may be? They may play a very pivotal part in what we can assume will be a war between benders and non-benders, as they are comprised of both. Obviously they have been working with the Avatar, think they may have taught her any non-bending skills? (I doubt they have, but it really would have been a good move on their part, huh?)

ha! im late to this BUT i agree with yodels though, the order corrupted couldnt happen, especially while aang is alive and he hasnt been dead too long, korra isnt that old. just seems improbable. and like joodee was kind of saying it seems they will play a role and in tlok but not an evil role. i can see maybe the order having internal rifts maybe but not to be behind amon.

I believe that Order of The White Lotus would play similar roles that Iroh, Bumi all the gaangs master took. They are the wise people who will help Korra follow the right path.
