One thing they didn't explain well enough IMO was why the power had been shut off. Was Tarlokk trying to start a protest or something? Maybe he set the whole thing up so that he could have an excuse to arrest Team Avatar.

I was wondering about that, but figured it was so they couldn't charge their Equalist weapons, which seem to all be electricity based, and to further enforce the curfew (you know, 'lights out, now go to bed!'). But I think Korra did come to say that the thing was a plot to coerce Korra into getting to "fall in line".

Archsage wrote:I really liked how the show portrayed what things were like for the non-benders. "You're our Avatar too", was a very cheesy line, and seemed pretty forced, but it came at the right time.

I actually really enjoyed that line. All these non-benders are beyond aggravated at the mistreatment, and suddenly Korra steps into the scene and she's a breath of fresh air for them. She's their hope. Then I got consumed with Aang feels and scheisse went to hell in a handcart after that as far as my emotions are concerned.

Reason why your original post looks different was because I accidentally pressed 'edit' instead of clicking 'quote' and screwed things up. Sors, bb.

Best episode yet.

Yes! I was shouting it out! (I think I might have woken my family up...) Korra still hasn't Avatar-state-yip-yipped yet! That just means when she does, it will be epic. And I love that we're finally going to develop Korra's spiritual side. I can't wait for her to communicate with Aang and get some airbender wisdom.

At this point, I'm thinking that Tarrlok and Amon are either brothers or the same person. It's tough to tell. Arguments could be made for either side. They definitely know each other though.

Also, I'm a little put off by how easily benders can do moves that previously only masters could do. Metalbending galore, shooting lightning (it looked like Mako shot lightning during the car chase)... In TLA, only Iroh, Azula, and Ozai could produce lightning (and I'm sure Aang could have if he wanted to). Now we have some chump named "Zolt" was able to do it, and Mako? I'm sorry, but Mako is hardly a firebending master. He shouldn't be able to throw lightning like Zeus. No doubt, this has been discussed all over this forum, and I'm sure some people justify it as a sign of the evolution of bending skills and teaching over time, but... meh... I'm not a fan. I think it takes away from the awesomeness of the few benders who could do these things in the previous generation. I'm cool with Tarrlok's bloodbending though. Clearly he is a very powerful dude; he deserves that power. As for Amon's permanent chi-blocking... I'll just have to wait for the explanation on that.
Anyways, I LOL'd out loud (LOLOL'd) at this part:

Now Asami knows what's up between Korra 'n Mako. Good. I'm glad. Mako is Korra's man (said in a sassy voice).
I'm dying every week waiting for these new episodes! I just want to go to my room, LOK it up, and throw away the key. Episode 9! Get at me!

P.S. Hello friends! It's been a couple years, but I'm back. Nice to see y'all again.

My guess is that next episode will have a discussion with Aang while Korra is imprisoned (if Tarlokk can keep her locked down for long enough).

Maybe it'll be like in the first time Aang spoke to Roku and Aang will actually appear to fight Tarlok, that'd be cool.

That would be pretty darn awesome. I'm pretty sure Tarlokk wouldn't be able to bloodbend Aang in the Avatar State.

Aang was sure able to bloodbend too as a boyfriend of bloodbender(katara), but he couldnt break Yukons bloodbend as we seen in flashabacks...weird

btw, nobody else noticed first Avatar state but inside of Ikki? :D :D  8-)
