WHA?
You didnt see that jealous eyes, when Korra jumped into the car with Mako on back of the car. I already posted it somewhere, but i think that Asami will betray Avatar Team or just hurts to Korra somehow, when she gets a chance. Like Sozin did to Roku, when he seen that Roku will die if Sozin dont help him, and Sozin finally seen chance to start his evil plans. Same with Asami, she ll be friend of Korra until she gets chance to get rid of her and let Mako just for herself. She is just confuse, but i still belive, she just needs to come throught this "bull-relation-shit/p" and she will be fine again! ALL HAPPY!

Jealous eyes are fine. Her boyfriend just hopped into the back of the car with a girl who is known to have a crush on him and they just exchanged a cute, quick dialogue-- basically, her glance is warranted. But when Ikki first mentioned it, Asami remained calm. "Oh, I never knew," or what have you, which is a mature thing to do.

I don't think Asami is the betraying type. She went against her own father to stay with the 'right' side, and Bryke isn't going to make her character's purpose "Get Mako" because that's pretty much as two-dimensional as you can get when it comes to female characters created by men.

Okay, maybe I am overreacting, but that look was not there for nothing :hmm: something gonna happen yet

I think it was just the creators' way of reminding us about love quadrilateral again and how, despite the fact that they make an awesome team, they still have their own brewing problems.

CancerianFireLordess wrote:I'm also a fan of the maturity Bolin possesses at such a young age. Had it been any other 16 year old boy, he would have reacted like, "WELL SCREW YOU, BITCH-SLUT-BUTTERFACE-WHORE. BRUH, I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE BEEN FRIENDZONED. IT'S ALWAYS US NICE GUYS," and would have continued making her feel like crap for 'denying' him. Honestly, if you care for a girl as much as he does Korra, being a friend should suffice because all he wants is to see her happy. /endrant

Basically, all of the awards to Bolin

Yeah, I know what you mean. Which is another reason why Bolin is one of my favorite characters in the show. He reminds me of myself, or rather, the kind of guy I strive to be. Like, I make a lot of friends in real life (not so true in message boards though, :) ), and a lot of my girl-friends -- that is, my friends who are females -- are couples with guys who are real jerks to them. And because I'm Mr. "nice guy", I'm the one that they tend to vent all their problems to, who actually listens to them, gives them advice, and do whatever fun stuff that I know they like doing to make them smile and feel better again. Why? Just because I genuinely love them.

In the back of my mind, I'm usually like, "WHY DON'T YOU GO OUT WITH ME INSTEAD?!?!", but I always shove that out of my head when it comes up. Because you're right Cancerian, that sort of attitude only makes the person feel like crap. So instead I delight best in being their friends, picking them up when the fall so to speak.

All of that is one of the major reasons why I love Bolin's character. He's a real man! Afterwards, when they were all making up after their semi-final match, and Korra apologized to him, I noticed that he did two important things. (1) He said "I'll be alright", which is to diminish his own personal pain or frustration, forsaking his own personal wants, and (2) he said "but we had a great time didn't we?!" which is to put the focus of his attention on whether or not Korra was happy. He cared for her more than he cared for himself.

Unlike Mako, it's like Bolin really cares about Korra, and that he really likes her. I just think Mako is mostly just "attracted" to her like he is to Asami. And Korra is just "attracted" to Mako. I'd venture to say that Mako thinks of Korra only in terms of what he will get out of the relationship, in terms of his own satisfaction (and Korra likewise towards Mako). While that's fine in and of itself, that's not really loving or caring for somebody, is it? But Bolin isn't like that. He cares for Korra whether or not he's satisfied in the relationship. (And it clearly hurts him. You can be sure that somewhere in future episodes we'll see that Bolin still really wants to be with Korra, even if he's suppressing himself for her sake).

But I guess, in the end, you said it best. All of the awards to Bolin.

Do I sense a KoLin shipping campaign here? Or is that out of the question?

But with all that said, Mako isn't realy a bad guy - he's just, well, a guy. You know he isn't horrible because of the way he looks after his younger brother... he's just a little greedy with the girls. So in that sense, he doesn't deserve Korra... but we shouldn't hate on him too much. He's an orphan boy who's been looking after his kid brother almost all his life. We should cut him some slack.

(I feel like i'm talking about these characters as if they could actually feel the sentiment we have towards them... what's wrong with me?)

You're having sentiments because we're equating these imaginary characters to real life people that we know exist. It's a reason why this show is pretty good -- the characters are, at least in this way, pretty realistic.

And yeah, I wasn't hating on Mako or anything. He's just a typical male teenager is all. But that's just the thing, that's why Bolin is so much better. Because he rises above that. So it's not that Mako is terrible. It's just that Bolin is great. We're just analyzing the gap between the two.

So the fact that Mako is, as you say, "greedy with girls", is fine. He's a guy, that's just the basic instinct for guys to do. But you don't get an award for being a basic human animal. You get awards for ascribing to 'higher-than-natural' standards, ideals and morals. Bolin does that, Mako doesn't. And so we say, all of the awards to Bolin.

Where did you guys find the name for the guy on trial in the flashbacks. Did I miss something somewhere?

It is in episode where Tarrlock invites Korra to his task force. It is said in Council Room when Tarrlock arguing with Tenzin.

I believe that would be episode four; correct me if I'm wrong.
