Don't let's start this with Korra now. Anime doesn't mean 'really good cartoon'. It means a cartoon made in Japan. It's a Japanese word for animation. If you're Japanese you can use it to describe a cartoon if you really want to, but if you're not then please don't start slapping it on any really good American cartoon as if somehow a Japanese name honors it above just calling it a 'really really awesome cartoon' or show or whatever other word actually fits.

I thought "anime" was a style of cartoon. Sorry if you were offended.

Oh well. Then all "Japanese Animations" suck compared to this cartoon; cartoon > anime.

Nobody was offended. Just wanted to tell you that you don't understand something. Anime is the Japanese word for cartoon. If it's a cartoon from Japan then it's an anime. Simple yes?

"Dady can I have some Liji(???)juice too?"
"No."

That no is my favorite no ever spoken.

I'm sure it is better than the all 1 of them you've seen.

Oh, I've seen way more than just 1 'Japanese animation'. I'm not sure why you'd even say that, given that you have nothing substantial to back that claim of yours up.

You're Ataru's echo or something?

I can make it clearer, if I'm confusing you. The Legend of Korra is greater than all Japanese animations. Simple yes?

I thought it was pretty obvious you couldn't have experienced many Japanese animations if you were throwing around statements like that, considering you have nothing to back it up with.

Korra's great, but it isn't better than every Japanese animation ever made. Keep your irrational exuberance in check. It's especially ignorant to declare something better than something else when you've only seen all of 2 episodes of it. Not saying it's going to suddenly turn to crap after a few episodes, but you're coming across as a little fanboyish with sudden declarations like this.

What I was actually referring to was the way you keep calling them "Japanese animations" with your little quotes around them.

a. Now you know the correct use of the word anime but you refuse to use it.
b. Why are you quoting it? Are you being sarcastic like air quotes as though it isn't actually correct?

Why are you being like this? You can think that Korra is better than anime and I won't give a sh**. I'm more concerned about the way you're acting about it. Just accept that you now know the accurate definition for the word anime and move on guy.

See, now this is a good conversation. What Japanese animation do you think is better than LoK (assuming Korra keeps this up -- hard to judge based on only two episodes, you know?). The only area where I can see LoK as lacking is in the evil villian overarching story department, but that's just because this episode wasn't really about that. I already love the fact that Amon isn't some evil Lord, but a social revolution entity (much, much more realistic than melon-Lord... I mean, Fire Lord). Ignoring that, Korra has every Japanese Animation beat in the animation, voice acting (oi), humor, and world.

Oh, and for that silly little 'you only watched 1 anime' nonsense, I guess I should go through the list of all the Anime series that i've watched:

Rurouni Kenshin
Dragon Ball / Z / GT
Outlaw Star
One Piece
Yu-Gi-Oh
Full Metal Alchemist
Witchblade
Gun X Sword
High School of the Dead
Naruto / Shippuden
Inuyasha
Yu-yu Hakashu
Bleach
Arjuna
Bo-bobo bo bo bo-bo (sp?, lol)
Cowboy Bebop
Death Note
Zatch Bell
Aquarion / Evol
Burst Angel
*Spirited Away (I know, not a series)
*Howl's Moving Castle
*Princess Mononoke (sp?)
*[I'm forgetting the last Miyazaki movie I watched, something about some valley?]

That's not the complete list but the stuff I have on the top of my head. But none of those are as good as LoK's first two episodes have been showing. Except for Spirited Away, that's was really, really good to me. Then again, it's not as good as the feeling I got from Iroh's character (the sadness) in TLA, so I wouldn't give Spirited Away too much credit. Hmm. Now I'm thinking of changing my avatar to no-face. Or Ishida from Bleach.
