Kataang or Zutara?

I vote Zutara. Sorry, I'm never really one for predictable "ships". While I don't have any protests against the Kataang ending in the series (and I wouldn't want a Zutara drama in the movies either), a Zutara pairing would have been pretty exciting...full of sparks, fireworks, tsunamis and what-not. Fire and Water make a very interesting (and intense) relationship.

There is a chance for Azuokka - just remember the "Day of black sun" moment when Azula jumps over Sokka. (i know it's just a few seconds but still....)

I'm pretty sure that the whole Azuokka thing is a pretty huge stretch. Not that this is directed at anyone in particular, but I hate it when people jump to conclusions like that in real life: anytime a girl has any kind of interaction with a guy (or vice-versa), they are automatically “flirting,” and they both have to deal with all their friends going “zomg u liek totally liek him lolz!!!!!1!!one” for weeks. It drives me crazy!

Anyway, the only interaction Azula and Sokka ever had was the incident pictured in aashongi’s avatar (which, despite my skepticism, is HILARIOUS, by the way), in which he was enraged because she had admitted to torturing his girlfriend. Not exactly indicators of attraction as far as I’m concerned, but that may be just me. Whatever.

LOL We're getting really off-topic with the Azuokka (or Sokkla, as the fandoms refer to them) sidetracks. I didn't mean to change the course of this topic. (Hmmm...maybe we should start a separate thread.) Let's see if I can take it back on track.

You're right, Laerasyn. The Sokka-Azula pairing is, of course, very much a stretch as far as the series and movies go, but you can't stop fans from pairing them off and letting their imaginations fly with it. Know why? Because this pairing is made up of all sorts of "excitement" (and I mean hot hot excitement) like a Zuko-Katara pairing would be. Zuko and Katara may be Fire and Water but both of their personalities are just as fiery and strong. The tension between them in the Western Air Temple episode (when Zuko offered to teach Aang firebending) was so thick you can slice it with a knife (pardon the cliche). Tension is always good in a relationship, keeps its exciting, burning (ummm...for me, at least).

Katara and Aang, on the other hand, balance each other. Katara can be stubborn but Aang can calm her down or give her wisdom on things...and vice versa. It's all sorts of perfect, all sorts of "awwww". Hence, it's the "ideal" relationship in the Avatar world. And I salute the creators for pursuing that pairing.

But I like it not ideal, hence Zutara...and Sokkla. *grin*

OFF TOPIC AGAIN: Apart from the Day of the Black Sun interaction, here's another reason the Sokkla fandoms think there's a chance that their (our) ship will continue to sail >> SOKKA'S SUBCONSCIOUS TALKING? LMAO!

For the longest time I've been trying to see how Tokka or Taang would work.
Idk, maybe I don't have an imagination or something. But I can't see it.

I had the imagination to see Zutara happen and swear that when Katara was lifting poor electricuted Zuko onto his feet they'd makeout and then laugh at insane Azula.

That didn't happen.
I guess since that didn't happen my imagination has been crushed.
I always saw Tokka as a little girl crushing on the older guy...I can't see that happening hence why I don't think Kataang works (even though it does and it's cute xD).
And Taang...Aang is too much in love with Katara and Toph has a crush on Sokka (and slightly Zuko) so...idk.

HAHA! Your posts crack me up. I'm so glad there are more Zutarian's like me out in the world. I deffffinitely thought they were going to kiss as well after that scene, I mean...It was such a perfect opportunity, you know? I didn't really become a die hard fan of Avatar until literally right after the series had ended (i pretty much watched that scene and decided I needed to watch the series from the beginning) and that's because I was totally interested in Zutara. I thankfully became more interested in the series as a whole as time passed though, haha.

And dude, anyone ever read any Zutara fanfiction? Oh my goodness, some of that stuff out there is completely ridiculous. I love reading it, though, even if it's just for giggles. XD (Honestly though, if anyone's read any worthwhile Zutara FF, please pass the love on!)

LOL one time i went to a zutara video on youtube and i put in the comment "There's a special place for zutarians in hell, right next to hitler." good times. I got sooooo many comments and messages back. The thing that ticks me off more then anything though is when people disregard canon and make up stupid theories. I was on this huge flame war one time on youtube cause this kid said they had a theory that after aang was hit by azula and put in that coma that katara would become the next avatar. Then they said katara and zuko were the main characters and aang was a close second. I could not leave such insolence unrebuked. first off it's called Avatar the Last Airbender. HOW CAN AANG NOT BE THE MAIN CHARACTER?? Second aang may be in a coma but he's still alive and he's still the avatar so why would someone who's allready alive suddenly become the avatar when there's still one hanging around?? rant over

Those are the times when yo have to just let stupid be stupid and don't get yourself involved, lest their stupidity rub off on you. There are some people who just can't be reasoned with.
