Shifu, it's always a pleasure to read your comments. They always make me smile. I would just love to see inside your head as you read posts and put together yours. I could almost imagine a mini-you ( which looks like your avatar ) running around piecing together a shattered lightbulb like a jigsaw puzzle. Getting halfway and then giving up in frustration, causing a randomly generated post result. Don't ever change that

The rich are angry as they are the ones who will be taxed more. They feel like they are paying for everyone else's healthcare. They also feel that lazy people who don't work will benefit from them working hard.

I loved how she was putting her finger at the audience and nodding in a "ooh ooh this is it this is it!" manner when they finally found the part she was focusing on. Maybe she thought sustaining meant something else *shrugs*.
I find it really sad that people like this even manager to make it into the government to run this country. I admitedly never really cared for politics untill this election. No president or candidate ever seemed worth a damn and pretty much were all like Betsy. I saw Obama on Jay Leno before he ran for president and he caught my attention as I really hadn't heard many politicians say much which actually made any real sense. Followed it ever since then and it only got better, I can actually sit through one of his speeches without feeling like I have a moron speaking to me. They need to get more Betsy's out of any kind of power and more Obama's in.
At least that's how I feel.

As do I. About... all of that. I'm tempted to just say "QFT" and leave it at that.
I got so frustrated when she would try to engage the audience... especially when she was all "lol he's wrong, isn't he?" and the audience is all "um no shuddup".
I only started caring about politics during the presidential campaign. I defy anyone who tells me that's a silly way to get into it. He's such an amazing orator.
And well said, Jackie. Being a communist, as a concept, is the farthest thing from inherently bad. There aren't really any mainstream political schools of thought that are inherently bad. What's bad is being a failed communist, because communism can fail pretty spectacularly.

I agree. In fact, the perfect world many dream about (food supplied, no homeless people, no overly powerful rich people) is exactly what perfected communism would be.

Stalin - Communist Party - Evil, Stalin - Communist Party - Evil, Stalin - Communis..

COMMUNISM!!?!?! That's terrible guys *calls 911*.

You guys here are all awesome. Would not believe how hard it is for anyone to understand that the idea of Communism in theory isn't evil or even bad. It doesn't work in practice but not because it's evil. We're just not ready for it yet. It's awful how often Communism is used to classify something bad and really makes you feel sorry for those throw it around so much.

Communism, isn't evil. It's just an impossible idea for now.
The idea is that everyone lives equal. I agree, the ways of installing it were anti-democratic.

See the problem is government relies on a person. People all have agendas, and very rarely do they match yours. If they do then hey you're a member of the party and you rave and gnash your teeth when someone questions it because... duh they're questioning your agenda which you irrationally project onto everyone as the 'perfect' agenda that would make everyone happy (because when you're fed everyone's satisfied). It's always gonna be wrong. It's impossible for us to get someone without an agenda to lead us so we might as well give up and spend our time watching anime.

Now most of you may have noticed I have some communist leanings in that I don't believe man is capable of leading himself and it is necessary for him to be lead, by force if necessary. However, obviously, I wouldn't trust a person to lead us since... well I just explained why. Instead I figure our only hope is a theocracy where some religious figure (don't care which as long as he/she is on the good side, obviously as a Christian you know who I'm rooting for but I'll leave my mind open just in case...) comes down to lead us impartially... or aliens. Aliens would do the trick to, as long as they're not... y'know aliens like in that one religion that I won't mention since I don't want to offend anyone stu-... open-minded enough to join up with them.

So that's my reply. If aliens or some religious figure were offering me a health care plan, I'd take it. Otherwise I might as well close my eyes and throw money to the wind cuz' either way it blows it's still just wind blowing my money away.

If Jesus and Vp Buddha raised income taxes, I doubt anyone would be complaining.

Yes, we need healthcare reform...but not now. Let's wait until we are mostly out of the current recession before upping the taxes for everyone.

And if getting the bill passed is such an issue than they can just split it up into a bunch of tiny bills and everyone can vote no on what they didn't like.

It's worked before
