I love how three pages of this topic is: you said this; no is said THIS; no it says "this"; but i ment to say "THIS"...
all very strange.
As far as the needy Africans go, most people don't know that these organizations that collect money from Americans to feed, vaccinate, and provide shelter to the disadvantaged, only use a fraction of the money they collect on actually building, feeding, and providing medical aid to these people. These organizations take advantage of America becoming a nation that does nothing but throw money at a given problem. Lazy, rich Americans, in order to clear their conscious, just throw some money into some random organization not really caring what happens to the money as long as they can write it off on their tax return.
In reality the only was you can truly know that ALL your money is being put to good use is traveling to Africa yourself and contribute directly. What we are doing now is like trying to spray medicine on a wound from across the room (you would be lucky to even hit it), the only way you can truly help the wound is if you directly apply the medicine.
If you truly want to help these people there are churches and volunteer groups all around the nation that send people to Africa, Haiti, South East Asia, India, and other needy places to confront these problems DIRECTLY. Sending 30$ to some large corporation isn't going to help anyone, but their pocketbooks.
