I'm thinkin the monk might be from the air temple or fire temple. I mean, before Aang disappeared, the Avatar cycle wasn't out of wack, so no one would say "I've lived to see your return", because the return was normal.

Maybe there are people in the southern airtemple? Or it could very well be from the fire temple, where Aang meets Roku. That's just my speculation at least, but I can guarantee it isn't Gyatso or anyone else from Aang's past.

That's what I was thinking also. But I mean, it's been 12 years since Roku died,soo...I guess the monk was very veryyy happy he lived to see the next Avatar? He is pretty old.

I can't help but thing that it IS Monk Gyatso talking to Aang when he finds out he is the Avatar. Or something... I dunno. Seems very monk-like to me... *shrugs* but who knows.
