No. Just no.

And episode 4 was out, definitely storyboarded WAY before that atrocity of a book.

INTERJECTION: The Inheritance Cylcle is a lovely series!!!

But back on topic, I thought it was funny how it only took Sokka ONE DAY to learn swordfighting. It seemed like a filler/unnecessary character development. And was Piandao important enough to dedicate an entire episode to Sokka training with him? There were enough master benders in the Order of the White Lotus to make up for the lack of a swordsman.
Sokka in the tent makes me giggle.

I thought the whole purpose of introducing Sokka's master and his new black sword, was to make Sokka more of a "badass". I mean, he was pretty darn good with his boomerang but that's not all that intimidating. Everyone else was growing up and mastering their bending, it was time for Sokka to grow up too and become formidable.

The sword that he was trained with was totally europeanish style... In kendo the swords are completely different, just a thought... :eh: :hmm:

It's more than just a full episode dedicated to sokka being a swordmaster.
There are other meanings in the episode, like an obvious one is showing that not all firebenders are evil.
And alot others than just that

I would have been great if Zuko had started gining Sokka some traing afterwards as well seeing how badass he is with his Dual swords.
