Maiko37's Graphic Gallery: Use any and I WILL Hurt You.

So umm...These are my graphics. Please don't use any of them, I swear I will break down and eat you up. Some of these were requests for others, and others were just out of boredom. :] I'd like some criticism and what not, so go on. Tell me.

Maiko37's Policy:
Under absolutely NO circumstance is anyone allowed to use my graphics. I'm very protective over my work and the last thing I want is someone claiming it as their own. The punishment of stealing or using a graphic of mine without permission is...not good. I will do whatever it takes to prove graphic theft true. If it happens to many times, I suppose I will have to close up shop and not display my graphics anymore. Thank you and please respect my decisions.

I really like your sigs, however I suggest on icons to go a little lighter with the textures on your icons. Sometimes Avis look best simple : ). Do you sharpen your pictures? I rarely use the sharpen tool, sometimes it works on graphics and sometimes I doesn't, although I don't see an over use of the sharpen tool as I see on some other peoples graphics.

What program do you use?

Yeah, I know what you mean about the avies. I'm still learning when enough is enough. :]

And I do use the sharpen tool on some of the sigs. Depends on the composition of the sig and how I want it to flow. I use Photoshop CS4, its pretty awesome.

I suggest reading something on some people's favorite graphics tools (LJ the god of tutorials) -

The Curves Tool
Cropping
Selective Color - possibly the most used tool in any tutorial for graphics you'll ever find
Levels
Blend Modes

For tutorials I would start off with something of your own style while viewing some other peoples tutorial work to get an idea of different styles -

Sanami Tutorials
Ewidentnie Tutorials - All Anime/Manga (It shows simple-ish icons and uses much selective color)

*lots of non-cartoon tutorials also look good on cartoon-esqe icons, except maybe ones that deal with curves etc

There are plenty more tutorials (I've probably read 200 + or more) but those are some good starters.

Sites that could help are, texturize (download textures I think I have 16 + gig of textures ), icon coloring, icon tutorial, toon tutorial.

Here is a large index of tutorials, though it was made in 06 so some of the icon antics may be outdated, but there is good stuff in it here

I hope that helps with some stuff. I like your style (it's kind of...old and easy on the eyes) so I think absorbing other people's ideas is a good way to do sigs as well.
