The racebending thread addresses a entire spectrum of controversial aspects concerning The Last Airbender movie.

This thread is addressing what I believe to be the pivotal point of their whole argument, Noah Ringer's Race.
Many believe he is white many, including myself, believe he could be part-Asian.
Unfortunately, there is no information available to clarify the discrepancy.

Anyone who, possibly, knows his ethnicity, Or know's how to find out, Or shares concerns regarding it please post.

Perhaps the racebending thread can focused more while side and tangent topics like this get their own thread. And since Noah's race hasn't officially been clarified, this topic isn't straight-up invalid.

I think noah ringer is half asian or even half native american, he's definitely NOT 100% white. I mean, just look at him!

The reason Paramount hasn't come out talked about his race is because, he probably considers himself white, just like president Obama considers himself black even though his mother is white.

Ugh... It was said that all Airbenders are mixed race. Why can't Noah be white then?
I think we should bother more about his acting. Why seriously care about race?

Just kidding. Anyway, as you can see - these guys have both Asian and Caucasian features. Also, if you're of the opinion that Asians don't like entertainers who aren't 100% Asian, I recommend checking out the Times article below about how popular Eurasian entertainers are in Asia.

- It baffles me how the subject is taken so lightly though, almost as if now, all of a sudden, whether or not he is Asian doesn't matter anymore. They still refuse to take step back and see what that could really mean.

I honestly think you're deluding yourself if you think Noah's background includes some substantial percentage of East Asian-ness. It doesn't impress anyone if he's 1/16th Korean. For all intents and purposes, he is white. You just want to see someone non-white because it would validate your delusion that what they've done with the casting is right. And that rhymes.
