Amongst all this movie news we have had lately, we really haven’t heard anything about the animated side of the franchise. Well today I’m here to tell you that news has arrived and boy, it’s big. A while back, I made a post about how Mike and Bryan were hired on to do a new series for Nick. This article that I found today that lists animation job offerings from Nick pretty much confirms that their new series will be in the Avatar universe.
That’s right folks, the new series from Mike and Bryan will be more Avatar. You can expect AP to cover every single aspect of the new series in the future. Keep this in mind though. When I say new Avatar series, I mean a different story aside from that of “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” Simply put, this series will most likely not be about Aang and the gaang. Regardless, it will be Avatar. There is a slight disclaimer though with all this big announcement. The article that confirmed the new series would be Avatar later reported that Nick got the title “wrong.” Whether this means they got it wrong by leaving in “The Last Airbender” in the title (as you’ll see once you click the link to the article) in the name or by calling it Avatar, I do not know myself. I would venture to say though that the new series will more than likely be Avatar. Not only did Mike and Bryan say they would expand the universe in the “Sozin’s Comet” book, but it would just make sense marketing/money wise for Nick to enlist Mike and Bryan to make another Avatar series. Not to mention, why would Nick list the job offerings as “Avatar: The Last Airbender” in the first place if the series had nothing to do with Avatar?
