I guess because Airbender isn't really popular around here or something so distributors/people don't really care. That's a shame, I can already picture on july 3-4 the forum flooding with new topics about the movie and about inital reactions while I can't join the discussion. Ugh.

BIG NEWS ABOUT RELEASE DATE.. BUT STILL SAD

I called the head of Paramount Pictures here in New Zealand and he said the reason for the September release date was because of it being in 3D and because they have Shrek 4 and Toy Story 3 coming out in July and we here in NZ don't have enough 3D screens and time. So that was there reason to delay it so it can have a better run free of other films and also because of the lack of 3D screens or something along those lines

thats sucks and while I would like to know how they came to this train of thought and decision but this doesn't explain why Australia has to wait until September, I mean you guys are huge and you should have enough 3D screens, maybe its just too many 3D movies at one go so they decided to delay the last airbender for Australasia, thats all I can think of is that if it happens in one country it will happen in the other due to being in the same part of the world


So what do you guys think about this.. from a business point of view it makes sense but if I was in charge I would do it differently because of the popularity of The Last Airbender and the fact that if its the next "Star Wars" then it gets priority of Shrek 4 and Toy Story 3, guess it don't work like that

Thats a bull crap answer i must say as the release dates for NZ and Australia were out long before 3D airbender was confirmed.

its not bull crap if anything it reinforces my point. like every other blockbuster NZ and AUS was going to be airbender the same time as everywhere else but they changed the date when they were told it was being released in 3D so they didn't have three 3D films all in the same month

its stupid and sucks but it makes sense

No they didnt change the date it was september before 3d was even mentioned, its ALWAYS been september for Australia and NZ.

its just that Australia and NZ have delayed other movies as well so it has pushed it back. they wont play it the same time as the twilight film and the others and in Australia we dont even have the 3 box sets of the cartoon out yet. they are only working into season 3 on TV now.

its just typical of Australia, months behind for movies and games and gadgets.

I know this sounds outrageous but you should just fly to CA if it doesn't get moved up. lol. But I know that it's a super long flight so that does suck.

I have no money, no passport and have never been outside of NZ, not to mention that the tickets are thousands of dollars

just order the DVD box set from America when it is out, it will be out on DVD there before its in cinemas here or in NZ LOL

how long does it take until the DVD comes out?? I doubt they'd release it on DVD until it's been released in all countries.
