Well i don't think she would be stronger, or faster. We know nothing for sure.
But she doesn't get all of the power of every avatar combined when she goes in to avatar state, she gets more power, but not necessarily ALL of their power.

Exactly. It's the combination of all her past lives focusing their energy through her body. So it isn't all the energy put together, but all the wisdom and skill, making her pretty much the master of everything possible. It's not like 800 previous waterbending avatars make Korra 800 times stronger than the average waterbender, but simply an extremely perfect waterbender in every way, because with all the experience of the past avatars, every detail of waterbending is covered. There's obviously some sort of excess power in there since everything happens on such a grand scale in the avatar state, but it's not like she gets twice as good at bending with each previous incarnation.

All of the knowledge of the past Avatars is available to each successive Avatar. All of their life energy is reincarnated each time they die. Every time an Avatar goes into the Avatar state they are accessing their previous lives' life energy. The perfection of the bending comes with practice. It isn't intuitive. The Avatars all have the potential to master each element and yes become the strongest bender at it. They don't have the exact same specialty techniques as their previos lives or even other living benders but they are the most capable benders. It's the combination of the four elements in one person that makes the Avatar so powerful. If Korra was the next Avatar she would have to re-learn her mastery of the elements at her own pace but the Avatar state would become more powerful than when Aang was Avatar. Even If only +.1 on the Avatar power scale. The fully realized Avatar IS the most powerful bender. When they know only one element, their native element, they are easier prey for evil, ie.Sozin wiping out the air temples to prevent the Avatar from stopping the Fire Nation's warmarch. Not because he was the most powerful bender at the moment but because he had the destiny of becoming the most powerful bender.

So I have a theory.

(if it has been stated before please just give me the link )

So the whole series has been based off of Asian mythology right, Yin, Yang.. Push pull ect.
So the avatar was "created"/born to try and keep balance in the world. To keep the yin and yang going. To keep everyone alive and to settle differences between people and nations. Well in the show everything has its opposite. The ocean has the moon. Angry-evil firelord ozai, Kind happy jolly Uncle Iroh. And before even the nations had there opposite. Fire had Water, Earth had Air. :hmm: Sooo. When the fire nation wiped out the Air Nomads wouldn't that have thrown the world off balance leaving the Earth Kingdom without it's Yang? So after the war was over the world still was a little off balance leaving the Earth Kingdom on top so to speak without it's opposite. Idk where i heard this but i remember somewhere in the series someone said the fire nation( kind of ) fears Water Benders because of there ability to extinguish there fire o.0 So then what would the earth benders have to fear from there opposite since they are all dead? So wouldn't the avatars mission from then on to be to restore the airbenders and put the world back in balance? >.>

Or i guess he could just wipe out the earth benders and it would do the same thing.. but that wouldn't make for to good of a series

So then why couldn't the series be about that. Maybe Aang fails somehow or for some reason and then its up to this new Avatar (guy or girl) korra to restore the Air Nomads? Maybe trying to find Aangs kids to see if they are airbenders. Or find if there is other airbenders that survived or generations later there kids can airbender but don't know they can or how? And she learns the other elements on the way? Anyway just a thought..

Feedback would be nice as this is my first post!

I think you brought up some good points. I wonder if in some way, people learn to bend air with he help of aang or something. I mean, I realize the avatar is the only one who can bend all four but with all that talk of energy bending in the finale, I wouldn't be surprised if something similar helped restore the air nomads. But as for restoring the bison  I don't see how they could come back.

ahh so sad :(
