So I've never really brought up a thread on some other media before (since I've never really payed full attention to some lately), but I have to say this tv series needs some attention. I've just watched the season premiere and I am so indulged in this.
This series on HBO called Game of Thrones is set in a Medieval setting, basically with family houses interfering with one another with all types of affairs. Its like a fictional War of the Roses with many more houses and interfering outer sources. Here is a list of the things that I'm loving about this:
- Such a wide variety of characters that are played out so well by the cast
- There is a well provided back history and family line description on the site, and this story has a very complex and well thought plot and background
- Beautiful atmospheres and a variety of them as well
- The series premiere ended with many situations that starts the potential for further development and conflict
- (If you're a fan of a lot of sex and romance then there's that too)
If you have watched it already, I highly recommend that you read into the guides provided so that you may further involve your understanding for the story and characters.
Here is the site for the character family trees:

And the map of the locations of the houses and such:

Definitely look into this series if you're a fan of the medieval type of story. I can already tell this will provide some awesome action, political power conflict, romance conflict, and just overall great development.
