Airbender Preview in Entertainment Weekly
Posted to Airbender Film on April 16, 2010 1:50 PM by NightBender
Entertainment Weekly released their Summer Movie Preview issue this week, and included inside is an awesome sneak peak at this summer’s martial-arts epic, The Last Airbender. Last year, on the set, Shyamalan sounded both elated ("That they'd let me make such a diverse, Buhddist, tent-pole summer movie - it's unbelievable!) and jittery ("Yes, I'm nervous. I'm scared to death, which is a prerequisite for being a director; I think.").
Now that the film is nearly finished, he's back to his old, upbeat self: "Look, it's gonna sound biased coming coming from me, so take it with a grain of salt - but it's my best movie." Shyamalan credits the young cast for the film's heart. I meant Long Shot in my last post. @moe You don't really have to change your name. It's just when you first showed up i thought you were one of those name hackers.

@Janeka Not at all... I already said I'm 26, sooooo, I have a boss, and professor, who is an Avatar fan. I could hardly believe him when he said he wanted to see the movie, and that what makes it more interesting is the fact that Shyamalan IS the director. I'm not so sure of that... but ok. Yeah, I am sick of the emptiness of the last news, but it's all we got for now. I just keep reading this list once per day because I believe someone here can probably see or read something interesting... So, see ya.

srry im wouldn't waste 10 bucks for 3D. id rather see it in regular 2D first then id use 3D later on. i just dont wanna waste money on something that might not have alot of 3D in it. like clash of the titans, it didn't have alot of 3D.

@frostbyte as far as i can remember from SKINS, dev patel has a great body and nice abs, he is skinny, but he has great muscle definition... @Renara... i hope they dont push it a whole year... it'll be kinda weird if they do that, because all the press TLA has, and because everyone is counting to be released this july... i dont know... to me that news just sounds odd...

It turns out Paramout has been quietly working with a company called Stereo D for more than a year on conversion testing, including on library titles. Three months ago, Stereo D -- which did some work on "Avatar" -- began showing Shyamalan converted footage of "Airbender." Shyamalan was ultimately satisfied, and signed onto the conversion, which cost between $5 million and $10 million, according to insiders. "We thought their work was compelling. When was saw how the 'Airbender' tests were developing, we said, 'now let's see if you can impress Night.' That's why we don't have to make any changes to the schedule. We just wanted to make sure we could deliver a great experience before we made the commitment," Paramount vice chair Rob Moore said.

They would never move the movie back, it's too late for that. I think it will be cool to see the elements being bent in 3D.

@MOE I'll give you the requisite propers for an interesting response that, though rife with accusations, was nevertheless unoffensive. I'm sure you know plenty of patient people. I admittedly don't play as many video games as I used to, but I applied a necessary head lock+knuckle to the pate when the occasion required. I know how in-human people can be in the throes of imaginary conquest. I'm not from the city, and whether you believe it or not New Mexico is one of the 8 states I'm actually familiar with. Missed that lesson in fifth grade while we were moving and never looked back. It's only been embarrassing 18 times my entire life. As for Longshot's last arrow: I imagine he either used it on whoever he expected would come through that passage way (Dai Li?)and hopefully incapacitated/killed them. I don't see any reason why he and Smellerbee couldn't have made it out (amidst all the confusion and what not) with Jet in tow--no way that guy's dead.

I interpreted in the article that the Green Hornet will be pushed back to 2011, not TLA. As for 3D, it's overrated and I'm not interested in seeing it.
