@ Willro it said somewhere that TLA is gonna be 2 and a bit hours, i just don't remember where

@ Willro I totally don't think that's the case. I think the movie's going to be ATLEAST 2 hours. Anything less than that would destroy the storyline XD. I wouldn't worry about that!

in the first pic i think those pillar like things on the right of noah are shutters and he is gonna close them, there are some on his other side too...i hope that made sense

Some thoughts after reading the article, in the order I noticed them. - *"Released: August 13"* Is this the new release date? Has anyone heard anything else where about pushing it back from the initial 7-2-10 release date? If this is the case it makes sence, the trailer was pushed back because of ILM being behind schedule, it would follow that they wouldn't be able to make the scheduled release date. (And apart from waiting another month this could be a good thing, the movie won't get "Eclipsed" in the box office [pun intended]) Some info we've already known; his daughters getting him into the show, 'minor' character and plot changes for the sake of the movie and new audience beyond that of the cartoon. -Says that "scripting had already begun on part two" and that "if things go well, [i.e. does good in the box office] Marshall says there will be "hopefully more" than three." I find this part interesting because the idea of splitting the 3 seasons into 'hopefully more than three' films means more screen time for the movies, means less stuff has to be cut, means Night can go deeper into the story. (Will probably be something like Harry Potter, where they split the last book into two movies) Then some talk about casting, how Noah seems to fit the part perfectly, the 'racebending' issue, etc.

Empire Magazine is an European magazine, I think. The movie's release date in Europe is different than here. Our release date is still July 2nd.

This looks totally (said far too often, I know) epic!!!!!!!!!!! Noah Ringer seems fantastic as Aang, completely amazing resemblence too when he smiles. As far as the ILM disappointments go, it's just another thing to look forward to. LOL, in the last one, Night looks like he's trying really hard to look epic himself.

Ohh wow, that's really awesome. Do they have the full article with pictures on their website? I'm looking for it now, if anyone can put up a link that'd be awesome.

Just read through the entire comments and saw the links, thanks More than three films? Awesome. I hope that just means adding more into Book 2 or splitting Book 3 into two films (because really, a lot happens in Book 3, too much for one film in my opinion), not continuing on after Ozai's defeat. Because really, what can you do after that?

If there were to be more than 3 movies, one thing I think would interesting for them to touch on is some of the "unfinished" plot points from the 3rd season such what happened with Zukos mother. That unresolved plot point really got to me. I hope this does great in the box office so they can continue on. I now that the movie "the golden compass" was originally meant to be a trilogy but due to poor box office performance it was cut loose. (I didn't much care for that movie anyway) I would hate to see that happen to this franchise as I am a huge Avatar fan.

Just read the article and I am now convinced this movie is going to be amazing. I really hope this movie does well so they can write a 4th.

Hey look at the fisrt pic... I 99% sure that it's from that Roku's temple in the winter soulstice episode when he founds out that the comet is coming and the first time he meets with Roku... The second photo it's probably about that airball game that Aang plays with Sokka when they reach the southern air temple Tell me what you think

About the lenght of the movie: "Won't know until we are done, but somewhere between 100 and 120 minutes... " - LeDoctor (Frank Marshall) Apr 24th, 2009 on Twitter

And I think that Shyamlan is gonna do a great work, I love his movies, I is very creative and fresh... In some way he'll make us amazed with his work. I also don't think he has ever did a bad comeback or a bad movie, it's we who have to like or dislike his work because that's just an opinion and no one should rely on that. Like some of you said, I really hope that the movie is gonna be at least 2hours long, with that type of dialogue that's deep and long like Tarantino does. Can't wait!

i don't really understand why people think TLA has to be just like the cartoon, "based on" not "exact replica"... and either way i have full faith in Night, he hasn't botched it up yet, and i sure hope he doesn't, not to be rude or anything that is just my point of view

O___O 100 MIN?? That's way too short! I hoped the movie would have been AT LEAST 2 hours....... i hope and pray it is at least 120 minutes.

@ 04:57 pm January 01, 2010
Yaaah, I was kinda hoping like ~150 mins. Also, I hope Night doesn't throw in one of his twists, I'm confident with his general directing though...
Comment by: 26th Place
@ 05:06 pm January 01, 2010
@ Vanja The twist is that Roku is Zuko's great-grandfather 150 mins. seems like a great length to shoot for, any thing less than 120 just seems too short

The timing on those posts is too slow to be a bot. It had to have been one of those morons from racebenders using copy and paste. (yet another reason to forumize the site rather than leave it open and untrackable)

This can't be the solstice scene - the set is airbender (note the air symbols on the pillar on the left, and the middle of the arch in the foreground), not firebender.

the first pic is definately an air temple although which one is anyones guess. on the larger pictures on the link with the article, you can see the air nation symbol carved into the wood at the top/center. i made this my wallpaper and only noticed it when it was full screen size!

my first guess was the western air temple because of the shutter like things on either side of aang, or around the circle, but the western air temple is not shown till, season three, so i'm heck confused

Have you noticed that those sticks of the pic are probably those from the trailer too? When they show Anng blowing that all tower/temple. There's just to many possibilities.

Even though it may be fun, I think that trying to figure out which scene matches what by comparing it to the series is a little futile. (Unless it's unmistakably obvious) You have to remember that even though this movie is based on the series it doesn't mean that every detail is going to match up. Remember that M. Night is the one who wrote this movie. The series is a precious gem and I respect it for what it was. If the movie is different then so be it. It doesn't mean that I will enjoy it any less. Besides, I like the idea that it might have things I've never seen. I would personally find it a little boring witnessing a play by play of exactly what happened in the series. It makes me that much more excited to watch it and find out what new surprises are in store. Isn't that what we go to the movies for anyway?

I have to agree with Rose-Blood. As long as the movie is true to the series and doesn't mess with cannon too much, I'll be really happy.

@ 07:13 pm January 02, 2010
i also agree with Rose-Blood, she's got it right, i am just gratefull that there will be a movie, and it is better, that not everything from the series will be in the movie, that is what makes it interesting

I love it when people try to think things through so much. You guys are so cute with your little debates and insight into a movie who's production you have no control over. I kid, of course. At any rate, this just makes me want a damn trailer!!! SHYAMALAAAAAAAAN!!!! (could be the next big battle cry! XD I'm gonna start screaming that, now! Kinda like Guile and his little, "BISOOON!!" thing. Seriously. It's friggin great. Or Vegeta's "It's Over 9000!")

Oh I definitely believe the Super Bowl commercial thing...it's just the promotional picture from the first website you mentioned. I thought that picture was fanmade, why would they use a fanmade promotional picture? Unless the picture is legit....?
Comment by: Rose-Blood

Nah, I'm pretty sure it's fanmade but the website that posted it probably thought it just looked nice and used it. But yeah, I'm pretty sure it's fanmade.
Guys, check out this video on youtube,. Its about the last airbender and shylaman is being interviewd by the two creators of the tv series,. In youtube, its entitled: Avatar Movie Interview with M.
