UGO brought us the exclusive 30 second Super Bowl Spot for The Last Airbender! There's lots of bending and fighting, as well as some Avatar State action. Also, keep your eyes peeled for Appa! Check it out:
My eyes were bleeding from "epicness" The trailer looks A MA ZING I especially love the scene at 0:08 it looks familiar like a scene in the opening sequence of avatar. Maybe I'm pretty sure but anyway this is going to be an awesome movie.

Everyone worrying about Appas weird-looking feet: if you watch the HD version, it looks more like his flat tail. It just looks weird cuz of the angle

You know it makes sense why firebenders can't bend fire outta thin air like in the show. It may take too long to explain since you can't waterbend or earthbend outta thin air and since air is everywhere, that's not a problem. I mean I guess they could go on about how fire is life and so on...but ppl may criticize.
But anyways, I'm psyched! Appa! And the Avatar state was awesome--I thought it was perfect! I love the glow and they kept blue!

I'm pretty sure firebenders can create their own fire. Why else would they have Zuko doing it in the poster and on the website?

this looks great, however i am a little concerned with the acting getting in the way of the story. At least ILM can help with the effects. APPA looks awesome!

well he could have taken that fire from somewhere else, although i hate to be a pessimist.
They could explain how fire bending is really just extending the energy within your body into fire, Iroh explained it perfectly in the first episode when Zuko is training on the ship. And again when he's teaching him to redirect lightning.
What would they do about Iroh breathing fire, and all those cool moves specific to fire bending that just wouldn't look as cool if the benders weren't making the fire themselves.
I'm hoping and praying that they can make their own fire, for the movies awesomeness factor... i really hope they don't change that.

That's definitely Appa's tail, not his legs. Also, Aang's tatoos are all over, but are just too dark to be seen well in low detail. Also, it's not exactly a solid avatar-state arrow, but the glow bleeds together. I think it's awesome.

All that freaking out about whether or not the firebenders could make their own fire is a bit silly. Lol. I'm 100% sure they could. This doesn't mean all the soldiers are firebenders, though. Plus, I have a feeling that guy in the trailer manipulated the fire that was already in the shot because it was from a far more powerful source. Most firebenders just shoot small blasts from their fists and such. Don't worry people.

first of all (and i am not the first to say this i am sure) look at the Zuko poster guys.. he has fire around him that he himself created.. 2nd it is more convenient to SHOW and ADVERTISE to non-fans that fire can be bent... showing a firebender create fire out of thin air would seem pretty random.
Maybe firebenders can do both (bend fire out of thin air and out of a pot/existing fire) and we've only seen one of the two.
I just realized there's no Dev in this trailer. Ah well, we'll see him in a week!

God i hope you're right, like i said i'm hoping with all my might that my fanboy concerns are nothing more than just that. any i've had previously have proven to be just silly fanboy concerns so i should just relax. but i can't help but think about it. i'll judge more when the full trailer comes out.
Maybe they'll change that for the movie also, because the motion he does would be perfect for a straight up fire blast from his fist, it actually looks a little awkward with the fire moving like water around him.
i'll try to stay optimistic.

First of all...WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! *ahem* Ok here we go *deep breathe*.....I dont like the face the firebender is making when he spreads his arms out, it just looks weird to me. I kinda wish Aang's whole Avatar state part was more epic. Im not saying the glowing isnt good cuz that is awesome. I just wish he would have taken a more kick-ass pose. And im not saying i dont appreciate this trailer cuz my mouth just hung open when i found out it was out, but i think its about time we heard some dialogue between the characters. And about the whole earthbender vs. firebender part.....
1. That is SOKKA next to Aang not the Blue Spirit. You can clearly see his FACE. That looks NOTHING like Zuko (and i think i saw Katara behind Sokka, well at least an extra pair of feet)
2. Aang is not using airbending to kick up the sand. Someone said this earlier, but if he did do that the fire would just go straight thorugh the sand. And the movement that the earthbender (who is not the cabbage merchant) does is clearly (to me) an earthbending move. And why would they have Aang protecting someone if they dont even show Aang clearly doing it ? And you can see that its a pillar of earth with dust and stuff falling off.

Damn having sex wasn't as awesome as the tv spot above guyz and as for the earthbender/firebender scene im not so sure but aang 's legs does move but the guy there looks like he was earthbending too....
and about the review ,nothing to worry about that guy was cleary trying to act cool and typing like that but at least with the review we know that the movie stays true to its source....not like every other Hollywood adaptation nowadays...
Shit the tv spot is so awesome but i want see to Zuko (big zuko fan here) and appa ,YES.......XD

guys i am not joking but i THINK i see someone important 18-19 sec... pause and you'll see someone dressed entirely in blue leading a group of water benders into battle (background to Aang)... that is either Paku OR the Northern Water tribe leader.. (forgot his name.. arook something)
Words cannot describe how excited I am about this trailer. (And this is just a 30 second piece of the full 2 minute long trailer that's going to be on the Percy Jackson movie!)

hello everyone, I've downloaded the tv spot, and I was watching it very carefuly, and I found "The Blue Spirit" he is at 0:18, is the one fighting right behind Aang in what it looks like a Prison. I'm very sure is the guy with a lot of hair!!!!

If you are worried that the firebending will not be what it was in the show, maybe I can help. In the show, firebenders pull there energy from the SUN and manipulate the heat it generates at all times of the day. (they explain this when they talk about how firebinding will be enhanced with Sozan's comet since it's that much closer to the earth) Firebending in the show also portrayed firebenders as taking fire from existing flames. Both are possible and both will be shown in the film. A perfect example of this is the poster portraying Dev firebding from his hand (WITH THE SUN BLAZING UPON HIM)

Needs a full trailer. The effects look too fake. Too much slow motion. The acting may be far worse. But we have to wait for a full trailer.
Not impressed. The facial reaction of the guy from the fire tribe throwing the fireball looks really bad. So far i'm not impressed with the graphics but I give them credit on a small budget.
Really disappointed. It's trying to be 300 crossed with the matrix and it's not. It should have a different feel to it.

About the fire bending: I don't know if you guys have already talked about this because I'm not going to read through some 300 comments, but I actually appreciate the idea that the fire benders cannot produce fire from their own bodies. We never thought about how this was physiologically possible in the show. We just accepted that fire benders were special and could create their own element unlike the other three. But it makes sense that fire benders, just like earth, air, and water benders, can only use the element naturally produced around them. Aang, Katara, and Toph could not produce their own elements from their bodies. Why should the fire benders be able to? I think it was actually a masterful decision to change that aspect of the story. It's more logical and "scientifically accurate" (if that can apply here) that fire benders cannot make their element. Surely, in the cartoon, it made life a lot easier for the story tellers and animators because they didn't always have to produce some external source of fire. But in the movie, they've had more time to think about procuring and placing fire sources. I support fire benders who cannot make their own fire.
I bet all the racebender's secretly loved it! How could you not it was amazing!
@ReSpekt88 - I was wondering what you meant by that's Sokka next to Aang not the Blue Spirit haha. Yer all the hair is probably just a part of the mask... I don't think it's Dev's hair :)
This was only 30 seconds! Full trailer is going to literally blow my mind. Hope we get to see a closer shot of Appa (and his webbed feet jks), a clip of momo... Some Dialogue between character preferably Zuko and Iroh or the gang so we can get an Idea on their acting. Sokka being a fool :) and maybe some Zuko creating his own fire and bending it!
Still can't believe it... We're almost at 300 comments and it's been less than a day hahaha. Crazy.

@Infinidy - I agree with you on most of your points. Katara did once produce sweet and used that for bending but I understand what your getting at. I think it would be more logical for the movie even though I'd love for them to just be able to create their own fire. Hopefully they'll have something like a flint-stone as part of their armor that they can strike and use the created spark to turn into fire. Oxygen is combustible so that could work... Otherwise it would be annoying if they really needed to bend (Like at the NWT for instance) but had no fire source. That's why I think that they'll be able to create their own in the movie. I agree with one of the previous comments. The firebender (Zhao) just used the fire from the pot next to him because it was already there... Just quicker and more convenient for him than making his own. I also agree that it would be kinda weird for them to just control it like fire and not be able to punch/kick fireballs.

The movie is still in production. The screening was a rough draft, so to speak. And I'd like a link to the "LOT" of reviews you've mentioned, if you don't mind. I've only read 2 reviews; one positive, one negative.

well, they aren't reviews really. They are a bunch of pessimistic and rude comments that follow the two reviews that you mentioned. I agree that since the movie is still in production a lot of changes can be made. It still makes me angry nonetheless to hear those people.
