to the bullying firebender: i dont think its zhao...his facial expressions an that stuff just looks like hes a normal firebender who has fun bunching earthbenders...i cant imagine zhao with this crazy gaze^^

nonono...I am german and i want to watch this trailer on a big screen...and therefore i need to know with wich movie it goes e.g. in US the full trailer will be shown before "percy jackson" but i don't know wich movie it is in germany
from 0:08 to 0:10 we can distinctly see Appa in the upper left hand corner. His head turns and his tail rises. In front of his tail is a shape that moves from a crouch to a more erect posture. It appears to have a tail.
Does anyone else think this is Momo?

whoops just let out an ear piercing scream after watching that......and I'm in the middle of a class. Suck for the firebenders, but it looks so effin' kewl it doesn't even matter. Sooo happy for the nod to the original with the shot of Katara and Sokka like the opening credits.

There is definately some silhouetted form in front of Appa's tail. However, I don't think it was clear enough to say either way. It very well might be our beloved Momo, it could also be a Fire Soldier trying to control / capture him, or several other things (including Sokka, Katara, or some other ally).

Thanks for the feedback on the potential Momo sighting- my reasoning for thinking it was momo had to do with the porportions of the shadow, the manor in which it moved, and at the beginning, what very distinctly looks like a tail. That, and as we all know, Momo's job is to control Appa (kidding! We all know Appa's in charge).
Anyway, it is very, VERY indistinct, so trying to judge by the dozen or so frames it is even in is difficult.
Still, maybe we will get a better look during the 2 minute trailer!
The opening scene is a view of the gates of the northern water tribe. Look at the boats. They're being controlled by waterbenders.
And Aangs tats look soooo sick on his back!!
Appa looks incredible too!

This just keeps getting better and better.... !!!!! Excellent! And people.... STOP using a fraction of a second glimpse of a single scene to determine what the entire movie is going to be like. The fact is, we saw 1 guy bend fire from an existing source. Big deal. It only means it happened at that one instance so far. Stop with the assumptions and open your minds.

I don't think that is Momo. To me it looks like there are two people there and Appa is swatting at them with his tail. They duck then stand up again. They are way to big to be momo, plus there are two of them.

Man, I'm so glad I decided to randomly check this site today. I was almost certain that we wouldn't get a glimpse at the trailer till superbowl, but what a damn good surprise.
It looks good on my 42 inch 1080p TV. I wonder how it'll look when I put it on my 120+ inch 1080p projector screen. It seems to be turning out much better than I anticipated.

Okay... EPIC trailer and only 30 (no point in saying this since it's been said 300+ times before me!
But I will do something that only one person has thought to do *SPOILERS* a scene by scene detailed description of what I think happened (this is the 1080p trailer, if that makes a difference)
0-1 second: a black screen ALREADY EPIC
1-3 seconds: looks like the Northern Water Tribe. There are boats with waterbenders on the boats we see the waterbenders bending to move the boats
3-4 seconds: Circular ice in the middle of an ice tundra (not like the show where it was coming out of the water) Makes us wonder how was Aang frozen in the iceberg? Light still coming out of the top like in the show. Sokka and Katara are at a distance as the iceberg breaks at the top.
5-6 seconds: Aang facing a body of water shirtless and moving his arms (probably practicing waterbending) AANG DOES HAVE TATTOOS CONTINUING TO HIS BACK they are different in that there is like a circle in the middle and two fatter arrows going to the side.
7-8 seconds: We see a similar pan shot as the panshot in the opening theme of the original show. The Southern Water tribe with Sokka holding Katara. And some (including Sokka holding a lanturn). http://piandao.org/screencaps/opening1/opening1-95.png

9-11 seconds: A fight scene. Aang is looking out and there are Fire Nation soldiers and some other soldiers (most likely the Northern Water Tribe... but we can't say anything for certain) In the top left corner we do see Appa and his tail, I think growling at a Fire Nation soldier... what others believe is Momo
12 seconds: Fire nations soldiers running towards screen on what looks like a metal bridge
13-15 seconds: We see a firebender (hard to tell if it's Zhao) firebending fire from a fireplace/pit to an earthbender facing away from us. We see Aang (in red cloak), Sokka (in blue) and another person in blue. I think this is Katara. Other villagers are also surrounding the fight scene. I think that it would be more powerful to take it from an already flaming source... I don't think that they have to have a source of fire. But, again, we can only guess. Also, the Earthbender does seem to be earthbending (also there is a pillar that comes up and sand surrounding it). Aang does lift his foot but keep in mind he knows ZERO earthbending (at least in the show), so i doubt that he is protecting the earth kingdom person. I think he is defending himself... But again, we can only guess.
16 seconds: FROM M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN

17 seconds: We see Aang spinning his staff around blowing away the surrounding firebenders. We also see another person crouching down with red and black. This is most likely the Blue Spirit and not Sokka, because of the red clothing. He does have two swords.
18 seconds: We see Aang in that same place probably another scene using his hand similar to how he did when he blew out the second set of candles in the teaser trailer. Again the same character is in the back.
19 seconds: Aang is on some type of bridge and he slides under an enemy Fire Nation soldier try to hit him with a rod? I do think they for to add the CGI to this 'rod'. Two water tribe people are running down on the left side.
20 seconds: Aang can be seen with four other people warding off Fire Nation. Are these four other people Fire Nation that was left over or people in the Water Tribe/Earth Kingdom helping Aang? We can only guess....
21 seconds: ON JULY 2ND
22 seconds: A waterbender is pouring water on an enemy Fire Nation there is also a spout of water coming out next to him on the right. I think this is NOT Katara, but rather Master Pakku. Again, we can't know for certain.... but we can guess
23 seconds: HIS JOURNEY BEGINS
24 seconds: We see Aang at the center of that circular place an angled overhead view
25 seconds: Again, Aang in the same place but now we are behind him.

26 seconds: We see aang looking at us in the Avatar State clenching his fists together. His arrow, eyes, and hand arrows (first time clearly seeing them as waell) glow. It looks like the Arrow markings glow and it is so bright it fills in the rest of the arrow.
26 seconds: We see the Fire Navy throwing fireballs. This is not an overhead view like in the teaser, but rather a straight on view.
27-28 seconds: The title screen
29-30 seconds: Credits THIS FILM IS NOT YET RATED
30-31 seconds: More credits
32 seconds: Black screen
Now, what I think. I do believe the narrator in this trailer is Roku. I would like to think that Firebenders can generate their own fire or rather using the Sun's energy like stated in the show. I just think that he was using the fire pit because it was more convenient and probably more powerful. And that the Earthbender was indeed doing the Earthbending. Also, I think Appa was just growling at another Fire Nation Soldier and that it was not Momo. I also think that it was the Blue Spirit with Aang and not Sokka or someone else. I think the facial expression the Firebender makes is kinda bad, but what kind of expression would be more fitting? It most likely was Master Pakku doing the waterbending. And finally... I think the Avatar State is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!
Overall, like the 300+ before me... AMAZING TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To anyone who actually reads other people posts-
Some time ago a partial script was released, I'm going to find the link now, and in it Roku had warned Aang that the comet would allow the firebenders to create their own fire. Now we see the trailer where a firebender bends existing fire from a cauldron to attack the mysterious earthbender. In my mind this confirms that firebenders can only bend pre-existing fire.

Well, on the eclipse they can't bend ANY fire, so it's still an advantage, if not as big a one.
Yes, that's Paku, not Katara, unless Katara has white hair and a bald spot...
And if that unknown person with Aang is the Blue Spirit, they seem to have added a ridiculously large wig to the costume...
