UGO brought us the exclusive 30 second Super Bowl Spot for The Last Airbender! There's lots of bending and fighting, as well as some Avatar State action. Also, keep your eyes peeled for Appa! Check it out:

Lmao! Why is that FN soldier rolling on the ground? xD That doesn't look too much like a boomerang to me. And the earthbender looks kind of old to me.When Aang is fighting with what looks like the Blue Spirit, why are most of the soldiers just standing around? This might not be of much importance but when Aang slides under the soldier's "weapon" there are soldiers running after NTW people. And there's a dark person looking from the balcony of a higher floor, you can see the figure move a little. All the way in the background it looks kind of like it's snowing soot, like in the show. It might be mountains though. When Pakku waterbends, it looks like the sun is setting (or rising). Didn't the firebenders attack at night when the moon spirit died? I know most of this is probably doesn't matter, I'm just really excited for the full trailer.

i believe the soldier is on the ground b/c he we just waterbended by Katara. you can see her arms raised in the previous shot and the water on the ground around him.
Also, I don't know how you are seeing the soot falling in the background of that shot. It's a little hazy and there are rocky, snowy mountains back there but that is it.
About the sun when Pakku is bending, didn't the Fire Nation attack at dawn? I don't know maybe I'm confused. I do remember something about them having to wait til morning to continue the battle because waterbenders are stronger at night so maybe the sun is setting. Either way, it's some very interesting lighting.

@ Sara yeah the fire nation began the invasion late day, and once the sun started to set they retreated because they knew they would be no match against the waterbender's power with the full moon. So they anchored ships and waited for mornings because, in zuko's words, firebenders "rise with the sun"

Danni is referring to my comment that Katara could possibly be directly in front of Sokka in that scene? As if to catch her when she gets blown back by the air blast from Aangs air bubble. I think it's possible. Maybe she is there and it's just too difficult to see her because the shot was taken from 3/4 behind. Some think the one that can be seen is Sokka because of the color of his coat (brown). I think I can see a lighter tan-colored fabric like Katara's coat right around his upper thigh which makes me think he is holding Katara after catching her.

Probably. It's really hard to see. Maybe that arm (Sokka's) is blocking Katara's head.
Watching this amazing clip is beyond belief. Some of the scenes were shot in my home town of Reading-and now to see the beginning of a epic movie just gives me chills. Thank-you M.Night and Paramount for the loving care you have given this film.

Phew... I just read every single comment :/ After reading everything you all had to say, here's my thoughts:
first, you all are waaaaay overanalysing this with the whole appa and momo and earthbending aang etc etc...
Second, about the firebender thing, I'm just going to let you all know that firebenders most certainly can not make their own fire. Someone mentioned a possible "flint stone", and they were actually the closest out of all of you. I know for a fact that there is a certain picture of Dev as Zuko (and I don't have it handy now, but if someone wants to see it I'll try to dig into the depths of the Internet to find it) holding something in the shape of one nunchuck in his hand, and I'm absolutely convinced that that's some kind of lighter and that's how firebenders create their own fire- more or less, out of their own hands.
If you don't believe me, just wait until the trailer or the movie, just remember I called it.

I wouldn't count on it. Especially since we got this early. Theatrical trailers usually are released when the movie they're attached to comes out. The earliest that I'm hoping it will get posted online is Thursday afternoon. Any earlier than that and I will be very surprised.

Also, you guys are right, that scene with the firebender is VERY interesting... Why is Aang showing his arrows? Why is the gaang just standing next to Zhao and the firebenders?
Oh and I bet the Earthbender is Keong Sim, the "Earthbending Father"

Well, in the first season, Aang doesent really "hide" the arrows, Its in the thrid one, when everybody thinks the is dead.
Good point, dark... But I'm also trying to remember why he'd want to wear that dorky cloak if he didn't need to hide his tatoos...

I personally think that the "dorky" cloak is a good idea. I always thought it was dumb that Katara and Sokka changed clothes to fit the weather where ever they traveled and Aang always looked like he would be freezing his a** off.
It adds something to his costume. If anyone noticed it has the same effect in that extra layer of fabrics around his shoulders that his original outfit that he wore in the show had. Very clever.
Also, it makes sense if they aren't trying to draw too much attention to the fact that he is the Avatar. The only dude walking around in that bright yellow color. Like Dark said, they aren't trying to hide him, just remain inconspicuous.

I'm absolutely certain that's not Zhao. I watch The Daily Show ALL the time and that guy looks nothing like Aasif Mandvi. My guess is that it's some random firebending bully.

Plus his tattoos are covered up by his clothing anyway. Long sleeves, high color and his legs fully covered. Same as the show, but now he's not freezing.

@ Elfie I know, that's so awesome I mean, last time reaching 100+ was something phenomenal that meant some really badass news.
By the way, some people don't seem to get the firebending thing. Firebenders don't create fire, they bend it just like the other elements. Their source? They generate fire from their body heat. So, in a way their bending heat. Consider what happened in The Avatar and The Firelord (wtf I sound like a dork) FL Sozin pacified the volcano by directing the heat from the lava. So Firebenders SHOULD be able to make some solo fire..
Also I have not read all the comments so maybe some of you already explained or something. Just saying.

i just wanna point out like: - why does aang seem to be mastered the avatar state when he was fighting firebenders at the air temple? - can't firebenders make their own fire in this film?
im desperately waiting for the full trailer, i'm looking forward for this movie to become more than a worldwide blockbuster...more power

@Hujan- I understand what your saying. I get it, though I think that they direct energy, not heat. Otherwise, how could they get lightning. If they use electrical currents in the nerves along the Qi lines, then that would also explain how Iroh developed lightningbending by watching waterbenders.

Stop trying to push the link...you don't even have to watch the eps illegally. Most of them are still up for LEGAL viewing on the nick site.
Can we please stop debating on how the firebenders do their fire bending we will all know when the full trailer is out or when the movie is release cause right now all i see is assumptions from people who can't let it go just be patient we will have a answer soon either way i like the firebending in the movie

Alright, one last thing about firebending: in terms of them having flash rocks(or spark rocks whatever) it would just seem impractical in combat...I believe they will be able to create their own fire, however I understand why they wouldn't be able to, and should they decide to leave it out, then I respect that, and hopefully won't hold it against them...That's it, last thing...

From what I understand, Paramount purchased 2 minutes of air-time, but it will be spread out over 4 movies. So, sadly, only 30 seconds for TLA.
As I always watch the Super Bowl (it's one of my holidays...I make it a 3-day weekend by taking a vacation day on Monday), it'll be interesting to see if what we have here is the finished product or if there will be any differences in music or anything. *ponders*

The theatrical trailer will be two minutes long and be in front of percy jackson on the 12th. this is a tv spot, as in a 30 second commercial shown on tv. why would paramount by air time for a super bowl taking place in who knows how many years because if they make more movies one won't come out every year. I'm so confused. They are only going to make three movies, if that.

One of the frames on ESPN show the frame of Aang going into the avatar state. From the way it looks, it seems as if he is controlling it. Of course, there's no way he can do that yet
