UGO brought us the exclusive 30 second Super Bowl Spot for The Last Airbender! There's lots of bending and fighting, as well as some Avatar State action. Also, keep your eyes peeled for Appa! Check it out:
The clip was so much better on tv! lol soo excited now. i thought I was going to miss it but it was really good timing!

Just wondering if anyone happened to see the reaction of anyone who hasn't seen anything about this movie yet? just like happened to be at a super bowl party or something and heard some people saying "that movie looks like it will be awesome" or something along those lines, i just want to know if the general reaction is positive or negative, i wouldn't know because everyone i talk to already has their opinions about this movie.
a little bit of an odd request i know but i just like to know what people's reactions are, i know when i'm in the theater to see Percy Jackson i will be listening sharply around me to hear what other people think. i just like to know these things.

After seeing the spot I'm SO pumped for the full trailer!!
I'm not sure if I should actually go see Percy Jackson in theaters, or just watch it online.. cause when Transformers 2 came out I saw it on opening night at a major movie theater in my area, and they didn't play the teaser...
What are you guys doing?

Dude, I was SSSSOOOO pissed off, cause I wasn't expecting them to show the trailer right after the national anthem, so I went into the kitchen. then my parents were like "GET IN HERE, GET IN HERE!!!" i thought it was something stupid, so I took my time, and showed up in the living room right at the end where it said DIRECTED BY M. NIGHT. I knew it was Avatar, but was sad I didn't get to see it on TV!!!!

I'm going to see it, i was kind of undecided on weather i wanted to see this movie or not, but now that the trailer is attached there is no question. and apparently this movie is getting good reviews. i just heard that from someone i work with so i really don't know how reliable it is, he also said TLA has been confirmed for IMAX but i think Nightbender would have been on top of that.
But either way i'm seeing it, it's only 10 bucks, i can spare that to see an epic trailer and a possibly epic movie.
even though i can guarantee if the trailer is on before it comes out i will watch it a thousand times before going, but it will still be awesome seeing it on the big screen, you can't top that for trailer watching.
i seen the preview on espn.com too they even show a closeup on sokka and katara's face u should check it out

Kyle.. friends of mine (20 year olds in college) actually liked the tv spot... they thought it was short and they kind of hated the rock music.. but they thought the action was nice.. not to mention the ending..

I was wondering the same thing. Any one I talk to about the movie has been following it for some time now. I'm real curious what the general population outside the fan-base think. I'm worried that they'll see M. Night Shyamalan and be turned off.

I'm pretty sure the person people seem to think is the Blue Spirit is actually Sokka. It looks like he's wearing a parka and the setting looks like the north pole.

My theory of how they condensed the Blue Spirit part was to combine it *somehow* with Zuko's kidnapping of Aang from the Oasis. Logically it could make sense for the storytelling of the movie and still integrate the essential themes which may be needed for a sequel. I can't see the prison with a captured Aang but I could see that in the heat of the NWT battle, the Blue Spirit comes to assist Aang in fighting other FN soldiers then turns around to betray him. But yea I still think the dual swords means that the Blue Spirit IS in the Super Bowl Spot.

I haven't thought of it like that. I always thought that adding the blue spirit would just take up time, but I seriously like the idea of Zuko trying to kidnap Aang at the NWT before Zhao could get him.

Whoa,whoa, whoa. Everything you said DID HAPPEN IN THE SERIES and was never my idea. I was just saying that a possibility is that they interjected the Blue Spirit *subplot?* when Zuko did in fact "kidnap Aang at the NWT before Zhao could get him". The Blue Spirit makes it into the movie w/o taking too much time and still works in the grand scheme of things

RockinDMG Your right, Zuko will Kidnap Aang at the NWT, but Zhao was after the moon spirit, not Aang. Just to clear that up. Also it is the Blue spirit with Aang in that fight scene. Zuko's trying to hind who he is by not firebendeing, because the Avatar was his to kidnap not that S.O.B Zhao. This scene is important, because this is the begining of Zuko's change. From this momant on he will start to become a better man.. with a few.....bumps along the way. Plus we will see more of the Blue spirit in the next movie... I'm really looking forward to see how M Night mix's all this together, but untill then I injoy reading everyones idear's and thoughts so keep them coming......

THIS IS AWWSSHHHOOMMMMMM!! APPA DID NOT DISAPPOINT.... the whole fire bending thing makes alot of sense...firebenders dont just bend fire from magic..dont they have lighter flickers on their sleeves that sparks fire so they can bend it?? saw it on an episide!

I'm really not happy with the actor that was casted for Zuko, he looks totaly wrong! But Sokka and Katara look awesome.

In the show Firebenders could create there own fire, period. The only time I remember seing spark rocks was when Iroh and Zuko were in Ba Sing Se, Iroh wanted to heat up a pot of tea and needed to make a fire without firebending.

Sorry to disappoint you but that sene with the blue spirit is not on the NWT... If it was, the ground and the buildings would be covered with snow and ice...
And the part of Zuko saving Aang is very important to the story, that's somehow the part where we see some good in Zuko. Of course that he saved Aang to be him who catches Aang later, but Aang actually thought that they could be friends in the show because of that.

at school today my friend mentioned seeing this commercial, and he said that it was "mildly good looking". This coming from someone who doesn't like Avatar the last airbender. I was so happy!

I think it's fine if Aang is discovered by only one person, if it's Katara that's perfect and if it's Sokka i'm sure it won't matter. they will make the story work either way and that's a slight story change i can easily get used to.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but... if the Superbowl was the most watched US show of all time, then trailer might of attracted more people and the film will do better at the box office, so the sequels will get a better budget. wow that was a mouthful

i think your right. it doesn't really make a difference for witch person finds Aang. i agree that the story will work around the slight change.
but if it is one person, i hope it is Katara. it makes more sence if Katara finds him.
